    I probably wouldn't say I was laid off from my accounting job on live TV either-- but the "they tried to convince me, of course, to not leave" may have been a bit much?

      I disagree, I didn't think he was being too much when he said that. John is an incredibly intelligent but also humble guy. He was a certified public accountant. Passing that exam and becoming a licensed CPA is the hardest thing any basic accountant would tell you. Not every accountant is a CPA but if you can become licensed as one, it's considered a milestone achievement in the accounting industry. So I'm not surprised at all that his previous company wouldn't have wanted to lose him.
