Thank for this. I think it would have taken me hours to figure out I need3d to slice the labels to break open the housing. I would have assumed it was snapped in place.
How am I supposed to remove the collet and nut when the shaft lock doesn't work? *Fortunately, there's no actual need to do that. Just giving him a hard time.
Actually just did that today. I just removed housing first, unscrewed collar and slid forward giving me room to put one pair of pliers on shaft and one pair on collet nut. Held plier with shaft stationary and turned collet nut. Worked!
i want to know where we can find the shaft assembly .... i am not asking about shaft lock..... i am talking about tha shafts that connect to the moter shaft...
Couldn't find the lock part unless making it come from USA at huge cost. I saw how holes are made to be blocked by the lock, I wondered... do we really need that part at all ? Lock out, ring out, button out, using a dremel drill bit to replace the lock when willing to screw/unscrew the tip. Yep we don't need this part at all. Witch makes a 0$ repair. ^^
I replaced it now the shaft is showing resistance when I put the top housing back on
I can see the Dremel 3000 model in this video. Is this replacement also for lower models, like Dremel 200 and Dremel 100?

Great video. I used this video to fix my Dremel. It works again! Thanks.

@@toddt350 I will give it a try, thanks for the tip!
Hey guys just to clarify if your bit is stuck inside the collet there is no need to remove the collet and collet nut before disassembling your dremel
say the part is no longer available. you need to update.
What if a bit is stuck in the collet and I cant take it out?
grab with pliers below the collet and then use the provided key to remove the collet

Pity that is pin is not hardened, then it would last an awful lot longer.
Thank you!
Thank you very much Mark, this helped me out a ton!
