Okay ... just subscribed to your weekly free project sheets! Big experiment for me, I have quite poor spatial insight and when reading instructions I just don't SEE what is meant. While watching a video, I CAN see what's meant, see? The last Mini was an overload of pretty and cuteness, so choices had to be made: I didn't get the candy cane Suite. So for the striped DSP, I used retired Toile and cut it at an angle and for the Polka Dot DSP, I used the Regals. As I didn't have the die out of the Candy Cane set, I used the Double Oval punch. And a 1/2" punch for the hole. For this inside, I'll use retired Candy Cane paper from last year (or the year before? It was a 6" x 6" pack). That your oblong polka dots are going up and down at the bottom of the gard, makes that look like grass. The horizontal ones on the hat are just the way his hat is LOL. I was so busy making a red and a green based card, that it didn't dawn on me till the end that you'd cut your card stock way differently from what I did! I just cut down the middle score line till about half and then cut the piece of, of both cards. The pieces I cut off, I used for the vertical panel. I don't think it would have mattered, but in the Netherlands, weight is the main definer for postage. As my cards use less card stock, they are lighter, too! Now I need to find me a fitting Dutch sentiment. Or perhaps not. Many people my age and older dislike the increasing use of English words where our language has a perfect translation. Gnomes aren't Dutch either, so why not an English sentiment?

had fun doing this card. I did one extra thing, I put 3 layers of paper on his nose so it even looks more layered. I just started watching you with this card. It's nice to find someone from Minnesota who's brave enough to do something like this. I'm originally from Minnesota too, moved to Iowa when I found the man of my dreams {whos actually from MN too. lol }

This is just so cute. I been thinking about getting a die cutting machine. After I seen this oh ya. Im new at making cards. But this just makes me want to really get into it. I love this. I've watched some of your other videos. You make it all seem so easy and fun

What an adoreable idea! Since I haven't have the candy cane set either (like someone mentioned in the chat) I will try the gnomes nose die to cut the swinging hole from a scrap. There is so much beard an head to cover the scrap so no need for precise measure of the strip itself (imao ;-) ). Will case the mechanism in my upcoming workshop. Thank you so much for sharing! Update: tried it with the nose die on a 2 cm wide scrap. Works perfect! But for the bigger hole is a regular (not a mini) dimensional needed. I also rounded the corners above the hole for more free movement.
Great work around idea Sabine! I tried it as well and it did work but did not swing as well - I will try rounding the corners to see if that helps! Thanks for your suggestion!
@@suestampfield Yes I came across that, too. Seems to be important, if the nose hole is in portrait or landscape mode. If it was landscape (like the nose goes on the gnome) it did not move as nicely as with portrait (like an O standing upright). Hope that helps! 🙂
@@shiba_inu_mom yes! I had the same results - which seemed odd. I thought landscape would be better but that was not the case!
@@suestampfield Thought so too, but maybe the more of room to swing sideways is to little guidance for the piece. I am so glad we could figure something out anyways and that's why I love the SU community so much. Btw. I am a big fan of your teamie Rachel. I love the dancing gnome too adorable,when you use the dimensional to move legs do you cut a hole in it?
Actually the piece that is attached to the legs has a hole in it which "swings" on the Dimensional.

I personally would add extra postage, but it would probably not require it. Although it has dimensionals it would still not be very thick and the sequin is low profile.
Catching the replay.. love these dancing gnomes..just wanted to clarify. When you put the dimensional in the hole of the swinging devise you stick it in the hole but do not removed the release paper on the top is that right? Have a great week and thanks again for sharing..
No, you take the backing off and stick on the beard / nose / hat. The Mini Dimensional in the hole does not stick to the mechanism or the feet, only to the piece that goes on top. The feet "swing" on the edge of the dimensional. It is all spelled out with photos in the printable project sheet. You can get it here: suestampfield.com/subscribe/
