I understand your point of view, but I disagree. Brenda is central in season 4. A little distant from the others (but they all have their own experiences in this season), but she has the best storylines and the most interesting development of all the characters.
@@clauderain312Oh I’m not saying she was not present on the show or didn’t have storylines. I just mean she seemed to no longer have a place with the gang and they were often against her. She was sort of the outsider at that point is what I meant. It was just a bummer. On the other hand, it was probably good for her to be separated from such awful “friends.” LOL
Yes, and the embarrassment when your parents accidently picked up the phone elsewhere in the house and listened in to you and your mate discussing boys (and for the guys girls) 😂😂
Ahhhhh, finally season 4! 😀 As far as Brenda is concerned, this is my favorite season. She is more than ever the heroine of the series. We feel that the writers loved writing for this character. This is truly the season where she moves forward and tries experiments to understand who she is and where she belongs. Departure for Minnesota. Coming back from Minnesota 🤣 Wanting to drop out of university. Work and become independent. The play and the epilogue she had to perform naked 🤣. The headlong rush with Stuart. The arrest after the ransacking of the laboratory. The discovery of the diary in her room One last hopeful kiss with Dylan And above all, one of the best plots of the series: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof 😍😍😍 I also particularly love her bond with Dylan this season. They are not a couple, but their relationship is more powerful than ever, deep and complicit, a solid friendship which keeps the traces of their passion 💓. I regretted Brenda leaving after that, but when you think about it, it makes sense. Brenda is different from the others. After a rich season 4 where she understands who she is and what she wants, it is logical that she moves away from Beverly Hills for a less superficial universe. And London is perfect for that.
season 4 is the best of all 10 seasons combined; I hated season 3, because nothing more happens in Brenda's life after Dylan chose Kelly, in season 4 we discover Brenda without Dylan, doing her own experiments, and sees that Brenda never been really friends with the kids in the gang, that they were more Brandon and Kelly's friends, and that in fact Dylan was his only real friend
I agree 100%. I wrote about it myself. With her leaving, the thing that sucked was that we were not able to see her as a character on the show, developing, and her interactions with Brandon, since this show was mainly, always about them - the twins' dynamic.
@@russelconor8704 for me the interactions between Kelly and Brenda or Dylan and Brenda were more important than the interactions between Brenda/Brandon. The majority of debates or discussions are about the friendship between Brenda/Kelly or about the romantic relationship between Brenda/Dylan or Kelly/Dylan and not so much about the relationship between twins. David was more caring towards Kelly than Brandon was towards Brenda

It's said that Aaron Spelling was trying to alienate Shannen Doherty in order to her character (Brenda) being hated by fans but it didn't work because Kelly, Donna, Andrea and Steve were perceived by the audience as the meanest characters.
They never liked each other very much even though the show never gives a reason for it. I suspect the actresses just hated each other and it came through onscreen so the writers avoided having them interact. Carteris was old and probably had no time for Shannen, Jennie and Tori’s B.S. She seemed more comfortable in scenes Jason, Ian, Luke or that teacher.
The characters were friends in season 1 (with drama, but it is a tv show). Gabrielle is still snide when she talks about Shannen so I agree, it was the actresses.
@@mattsmith-er3quYep and if memory serves, the real-life “dislike” between them was so bad that Carteris invited everyone to her wedding EXCEPT Doherty, so it was a pretty unpleasant relationship.
