Many thanks for this walk-around video. As someone who'll never get THIS close to one of these machines, this is as good as it gets. I've never seen a long reach Liebherr before but quite a few high reach demolition machines & scrap handlers of theirs and talking to the guys who run them, they are very fond of them indeed. And yes, very quiet too!
Chris I ran a brand new one in 2001 and it was the same thing with the HVAC controls, most of the other functions took a while to figure out too as everything was in German. You did have to be careful with the swing too but it was probably the smoothest swing I've encountered on an excavator. Did you guys rent or lease that machine just for that job?
In that group of screens at 10:20 was that one screen showing the angle of the dangle? I imagine that would be incredibly useful for newer operators who can't visually tell the angle.
I ran a 924 and 934 long reach at a junkyard both were wheeled had a cab raise I tell you what when an out rigger leaks off and your cabs 15 foot in the air and and a magnet at the end of the boom when that sumbitch starts rocking its like a rodeo. loved that. machine
I know I'm way late to the party here, but even to a heavy machine neophyte like me, it's pretty obvious that the 'Tool/Wrench' means Maintenance Times. I think Chris was pulling our leg, feigning ignorance. 😄
Looks ridiculously expensive for parts, the only Liebherr you see up here are the high-reach units in scrap yards and log yards. Not too much Liebherr dealers around here.
KINda makes one wish you had purchased a much larger bucket for the Volvo 250 ! Just think how much more dirt you could be moving with each scoop !!!!!!!??????
Swing lock is needed when doing precise lifting, all those buttons make sense to me, but I'm just different. All those modes on the screen can be set for stick/swing/bucket/travel preformance and flow, Volvo does the same. Really standard stuff to tech savy people and nerds.
Nice Machine, Liebherr make theyre Own Engines Chris, Have done for years, they are classed as the crem de la creme of excavators in Europe...and priced to match!
@letsdig18 Liebherr is a Austrian company - like Steyr or Glock, not a german company, in germany some of the Fiat-Hitachi excavators get made as well as some specialty maschinery and mining excavators
Liebherr makes the first and best machines and they build they own engines, the best engines. The engines are made in Liebherr swisserland plant in Bulle.
got a 944 at my job when the auto lube light blinks the machine needs grease. And we call them leaky bears because when they leak they don't stop leaking. And good look figuring out the buttons I still don't know after 2 and a half years
We had 2-934s and 2-944s. I always said Liebherr must be German for leaker. There were some high-pressure 90-degree fittings and steel lines on the main valve body that broke in the first couple of weeks. The low-pressure control lines started leaking before they were out of warranty. We were constantly replacing sensors and control coils.
This is the machine you need for your business if you bough one you would never look back ,Ye I know it takes money .but some times you have to speculate to accumulate .old jimmy
Guess that yellow button is for greasing the machine. Thought it would grease it automatically, that's the most common on our machines. All u do is setting how many times per hour and for how many mintues.
Hey I work for a construction company in Canada. I have a question for you hopefully I’ll get an answer but I see all these videos of you in all these machines. Now do you own these all? Like do you own a company? Or are you an operator for a construction company? If you own one how big is it? Do you have many people working for you?
letsdig18 so cool thank you for the reply love the videos and you’re a great operator. I lay pipe here in Canada and I’ve seen many excellent operators and you my friend clearly know what you’re doing lol. Keep up the good work. I have a lot of respect for good operators as the work I do here usually ends up with the lives of people being in the operators hands as we go down as deep as 18-20 feet and in as narrow as a 3 foot wide trench. Keep up the amazing work
i always wanted to keep it simple when i build machines. computers and human interface devices are great for the engineer but useless to the operator. hard to trouble shoot etc.. nice is nice but they need to balance their knowledge of tech with the experience of working in the field. too many do not, over complicate stuff to make it look good but impossible to maintain, or at least very complicated to do repair work far beyond what is necessary. form fit and function is not taught much i think, but also, usable, maintainable, reliable, open source electronic components it a must. why buy some kids pipe dream that has never done anything or had to fix anything, theoretical or in the field. many great engineers make stuff so complicated for job security and not usefulness it pisses me off. i could go on but sorry for the rage moment. design for the job, make it simple as possible, make it easy to repair and maintain. add pin stripes when done.
P is not performance, it's Power mode, full pump flow from both pumps and full engine power, E is economy, about 80% flow, lower rpm, F is full mode - full power with load-sensing mode and L mean low revs.
@@punchaw1 don't need to worry about time failure with the autos. The ones we ran were set up that they greased enough that it could go down for a day without needing it, but even if it does go down they have Grease nipples on the blocks so you can Grease with a Grease gun

That's a Great Equipment manufacturer. They make some of the finest mining equipment.
BULLSHIT

Clean looking machine. How is it as far as getting parts?
"i dont know what this does but i like to mash it when its blinking, 'guess it does somtn"
How do you like this machine compared to the Kobelco you ran earlier this year?
One of these days you're going to push a button and eject yourself out of the machine bro🤣
That's the first thing I noticed when I watched a Liebherr for the first time- they're massively built-even over engineered
Which do you like more; this or the Kobelco you were canal dredging with a while back?
German Engineering at its finest. Beautiful Machines.

amazing machine. How much did your excavator cost
the engine is a MAN- Turbo-Diesel design thats manufactured and assembled by Liebherr themselves
Spanner generally means Servicing so I’m guessing it’s next Service is due on 1000 Hours ?
" I like to mash buttons that I don't know what they do to find out" 😂😂😂
This is awesome! Please do more of these!!! Like of your volvos!
Could you make a video of how bright the lights are at night on thes excavator thanks Haiko,

Not true. Was founded 1949 in germany but is now HQ in switzerland with factories all over the world
@@permarasta my mistake Liebherr cranes is austrian made
Fiat Hitachi was made in Italy, had nothing to do with liebherr
Whats the reach on the Liebherr? how do you find the difference in speed between the long and standard reach machines ?

Yeah, but how easy is it to get to the spark plugs? ;)
I like the self greaseing .
That feature @09:08 I wonder if that was some sort of menu or option screen to create custom modes of some sort.
we have a 944 Long reach with over 20k hours getting a new one this year only a few cracks in the boom
Guess that yellow button is for greasing the machine. Thought it would grease it automatically, that's the most common on our machines. All u do is setting how many times per hour and for how many mintues.
what about ctarpillar equipment i think they make some great machines
Где кнопка включения централизованной смазки?
what country do you reside
Weird those joysticks are the exact same as the steering joystick in a 844K-II
That button that you thought was autolube is autolube. Its got the same symbol as on a lube chart

hey, we do own most of them, but this one here is a rental. its a family business. just 3 of us

I think someone stole the radio?
Super quiet , I thought you had the door already shut during the demo !
1 Beauty.. like Long reach

That auto lube would save you a lot of time, Chris-get a lot more work out of her that way !
Yea and 5-7 grand to set them up. We had some of the double pump units and they were over 10k set up
that's a rental right?

What do you mean it has a tendency to swing while it’s idling? Lmao
Chris + German excavator = Epic comments!
kinda like a space ship with all the dang buttons
the wrench with the question mark is the next service interval in hours
Remember the days when you could buy something and it didn't have a bunch of useless icons instead of English labels?
its a deutz d934 7.0l turbo engine
Fuel tank is 153.3 gal
most bekamax are setup on a time for greasing. that's definitely different
I you don’t push the grease button every so many hrs the machine will go into limp mode no timer failure

the only thing i like about these machines is the joy sticks
Liebherr make their own engines.
Use engine ???
That's a aire cooled duetz I ran one for ten years
i take the autogreaser off my machines. they dont work properly compared to hand pumping it
you gotta have tunes while you work
Nice vid and as usual, commentary!
@fox13z400 Yes he says it at 0:20
Running long reach again!
You gotta work at Nasa to figure out anything on this machine haha
nice video
lmao on the radio it's on layaway after popping a 400,000.00 for the reach
Thats one way to beat a Gradall
so thats what 400k looks like.
Auto lube. Are you serious 😐 i could of made millions
cool you need one for yourself
I can see a gopro hero hd at 05:27
☑️
Those Germans are pretty smart!
Speakers standard radio optional 😂🤣 German built is the greatest equipment.
