  • Fresh Life Church: Pastor Levi Lusko preaches on memorizing scripture and why it matters to our spiritual health. Looking at Isaiah 45:3, we learn that even in darkness there are treasures to be found, and the way to access them is by treasuring God’s word, memorizing it, and letting it set the pace for your life. You will learn why it matters to memorize scripture, and what you can expect from this important spiritual formation.

If relating the book of James from memory were an Olympic event, Pastor Levi would be wearing a gold medal. That SO rocked, and with feeling and gestures, it was like James himself was standing there saying it to the church originally; I cannot say I have it memorized word for word, but I know it well enough my grin kept growing larger with each chapter. Well done.

Thank you pastor Levi for this sermon! I have been listening to you for some time, and have read your books and Jenny's. I love your teachings and all that you bring, and the way you teach it! I have to say I do hang on your every word, I enjoy your personality, and what you bring to us, I get so much out of it. I listened to the recent teaching about memorization of scripture, and it got me to start memorizing whole books. I am retired and this is a good task for me to take on. I have memorized bits and pieces of scripture through the years, but never a whole book! I am starting with the book of Ruth. Wish me luck, at my age my memory is a work in progress!! Thanks again for inspiring me. I will continue to listen to you weekly. God Bless you and your precious family!

This is is so true!! There are times when I'll need some guidance to make a decision or whatever the caze, and the scripture that ive memorized will just pop into my head to give me direction or clarity. Its so worth knowing as much of God's Word by heart as possible.

Wonderful message I was inspired and I will memorize more of Gods word instead of trying to call ppl or text who don’t text or call me . I will call on the Lord by memorizing scriptures

Phenomenal message as always Pastor Levi. Your 4th point of “appreciation for the bigger picture and subtle nuances of scripture” made me think of a fitting pop culture parallel. We often focus on singles by musical artists and while they may be great, we often fail to see the bigger picture of how that song fit into the composition and creator’s vision of the entire album. By stepping back and taking the whole thing in we can draw new meaning and appreciation from all parts of it.

Thank you for this message! I'm going to memorize Psalm 2 now, by typing or writing it a few times...that usually works for me. And that's a powerful Scripture about what's going on in the world right now.

REPENT GET ON YOUR KNEES AND ASK THE ONE AND ONLY GOD FOR MERCY. THIS IS THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD IN ALL THESE SITUATIONS AND IT IS SAD THAT MOST KNOW THIS BUT REFUSE TO ACCEPT IT. IT IS IN THE BIBLE GOD IS A LOVING GOD BUT HE IS ALSO A GOD OF JUSTICE. PEOPLE SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD YET REFUSE TO REPENT AND ASK THE LORD FOR FORGIVENESS. THEY RATHER PRAY TO A GOD THAT CAN'T HEAR OR TALK OR MOVE OR DO MIRACLES, OR VIRGINS MADE OF PLASTER. ONLY THE ONE GOD WHO DIED AT THE CROSS FOR ALL HUMAN KIND CAN STOP ALL THIS WITH A SIMPLE BREATH TO EARTH BUT HE WON'T CAUSE OF THE MAGNITUDE OF SIN THAT'S IN THIS EARTH. REPENT FROM YOUR EVIL WAYS, STOP THE HATE LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF. PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER NO MATTER WHAT NATIONALITY THEY ARE. STOP THIS HATRED ON EARTH STOP THE WARS ONLY DOING THIS IS HOW WE ARE ALL GOING TO SAVE OUR SOULS TO REACH SALVATION. GOD BE WITH US ALL. ❤ 🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏 I PRAY FOR PEACE AND LOVE "PRAISE ALMIGHTY GOD" GOD OF THE UNIVERSE AMEN

I am not totally familiar with you, although I've heard you on the radio a few dozen times. I'm having a little trouble following you....do you by chance have ADD? Your brain seems to be going faster and your skipping around a bit...leaving out segues that I can follow. Is it just me??? I noticed it particularly when you're talking about Fanny Crosby and the Pentateuch..
