I'm curious, Tesla opens up an API for a third party, has shared account priviliges with this third party and allows end-to-end communication via encryption. Either you trust Tesla and their third partys or you don't trust them at all.

I get the functionality...but honestly, If im driving my car anywhere...8 or 9 times out of 10 i have my phone with me. Not sure what the overall benefit of this app feature is. just my opinion

There's a couple of scenarios you can use it for including your phone dies or you lost your phone or your phone got stolen or you're just walking outside and left your phone in the house
