Well said Oni, I’d also add that whether we see the problem in others or in ourselves, we’re likely to miss seeing that each of us is part of a system of relationships that deeply influences each individual’s capacity for emotional growth. It’s hard to grow from a thing when you’re surrounded by people who have that thing and encourage that thing in you. That being said, I agreeeee. Protect yo peace. Distance yourself. But also look inward and check yourself too, do you exhibit those same toxic traits you point out in others? 🤔

Ohhhweeee Neeq!!!!! TALK THAT TALK 👏🏾👏🏾"each of us is part of a system of relationships that deeply influences each individual's capacity for emotional growth!" WOW!!
I can't even lie, i've had to do a lot of inward-looking/reflecting/picking, etc because I saw a fex toxic traits that I didn't and don't like. Just as you said, it's hard to grow from a thing when you're surrounded by people who have that thing! In that, you can't expect to be different or get rid of toxicity when you yourself are toxic. You attract those who are like you. Toxicity thrives in function, hurt, jealousy and negativity. Your comment is my reminder to not just talk the talk but truly walk the walk!

Toxic energy from people drains me! I like to thrive off positivity and peace not drama and misery. As soon as I see the signs of toxicity, I start cutting people off . ✂️.

I tend to distance myself from toxic people. My peace is everything for me from young. Even if it's a parent, I keep busy to stay away from home because you can't let your parent go lol. Unless you are an adult and can move out and be on your own. But if you're under your parents roof, keep busy to spend less time at home. As for others, keep walking away!
Also I don't think we always attract what we are, there's a saying that "misery likes company." Some people will intentionally try to drag you in their darkness of toxicity even if they see you are different, so you be alert and intentionally let them go too. Don't entertain them for a minute!

Sometimes a toxic family member could be a parent. In that case, you can't let them go. You still have to honor them. With parents, you learn to set boundaries to keep a peaceful relationship.

Yes! I love this, I use to question when certain friendships would end, but when I truly thought about it, it made complete sense. I’m thankful for the people God has placed in my life! I agree...give yourself grace♥️

First, I think it is important to examine one’s own heart, motives, and action to make sure that you are not behaving in a toxic manner to others.
Second, I think it is important to forgive yourself and other whether it is because you have been toxic or you recognize you have permitted toxic people are in your life.
Finally, I agree with severing ties with the following:
    1. Toxic people (family, mates/intimate partners, friends, and colleagues etc.)
    2. Toxic organizations (jobs, faith-based fellowships, schools/universities, and social groups etc.)
    3. Toxic media (traditional news, social media, television shows, music, and movies etc.).

As soon as I detect toxicity, I immediately start to back away. Great message btw 💛
