This guy is a true legendary fisherman
Thanks
@@dansportfishing You really are a legend , i grew up watching you on tv. Is 500 yards of 30lb mono enough for big tuna? asking because i don't like to use braid.
This was my first year tuna fishing, I was primarily Pacific Northwest fisherman, thanks for making the tackle box video’s. They got me on the right track for success.
I met you in person at Fred Hall last year. You and your channel have taught me a lot I'm still a novice 😊
That's awesome!
Been listening to you since high school in southern Cali…

Dan what months would be the best to go out after bluefin and yellowfin. out of San Diego... thank you joe

Great info on rods and reels. Fished Blue fin 60 years ago at Catalina... much smaller fish though....20lbs average
ca
Thanks
I have a okuma 8’mh pch conventional and wondering if that would be ok? What do you guys think of the ugly stik tiger ?
Good advice. I would also bring a selection of sinkers for sinker fishing
Absolutely!
Nice video Wath kin of braided line u recoment
It would be a dream to ride on the Mi Sueno!!
What rod is paired with the Komodo I know it’s the California but what model
Great info. What other jigs are working well for you?
Not much else, I do like knife jigs for night time tuna fishing.
What are the rods? Model and specs?
What is the 3th reel
hello Dan, What type of Setup would you recommend for tuna fishing ay Cortez Banks Verse Mexican waters.
I'd use the same outfits.
I love you men😘😘😘I’m always watching your video.and lestineng your advices. Thanks a lot
Godbless you...
Love the vids, are the giveaways still going on? 😁😁
yes
how heavy and what kind of artificial jigs should i use for the light weight setup
it depends how deep the fish are.
Good stuff Dan… I have a penn fathom 40narrow with 80lb braid and 50lb mono top shot as a good all around for 30-150lb tuna. What is your choice for connecting mono topshot to fluoro leader?
I use a double uni knott
What rod?
If you are wondering if the B-52's & Magic Metal jigs actually work... They do.
Buck tail for the win!!!!
Are you still doing monthly giveaways?
would a trinidad 16a be a good all around reel for local california fishing
Yes great reel for 20-25lb test mono.
Cool
Anyone have any idea what rod the medium setup has? I'm an east coast guy who's really looking to give the surface and yo-yo irons a shot on some Northeast bluefin incase anyone has any setup recommendations.

Dan great info video thanks for sharing Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I hope I win 😜
Send it!!!! I wanna fish sir!
Hi do you know anything about the banax tracker 40L reel
no I don't
I have a 40 size reel can I match it with a 90ib rod
what's the small reel. Enjoy your videos
Here's a link you can use to see the reel, amzn.to/2EJDXbE
I would love to fish with you!
I need a big game rod
Why do you need 65 lb braid if you fish 20-40 lb leader? Why not go 50 lb braid for more line capacity? Thanks
Most of the guys that know that fish for rock fish like to use 65 pound spectra. Recently I switched to 50 pound spectra for the higher line capacity like you suggested.
@@dansportfishing thank you for the fast reply. I can’t believe I just got pro advice for free in minutes. Liked and subscribed and thanks again sir
