We recently moved to our final destination after 36 years of military moves, and it is on a lake. I’m so glad you decided to do this scene. On my bucket list of paintings throughout the house is one with a lake scene, maybe a cottage in the background and a fishing boat in the foreground. I love how you did the clouds and water. Even the trees. Your such an inspiration Emma! I love all the beauty you paint
I am the world's worst when it comes to watercolor painting. But I will keep trying. I bought some of the Princeton snap brushes, better paints, and the Arches paper. I hope that helps! Your tutorials are wonderful. I've been learning a lot from them.
I feel the same way about my painting. And I also upgraded my supplies.....I hope it helps! I'm SO IMPATIENT with myself. Will keep practicing. Good luck to you!!

My husband, 11 year old daughter and myself have been in our truck for 7 hours coming back home after visiting my father in law in Florida. I’ve been watching your videos for most of the last 5 hours. Your so entertaining, sweet, honest, talented and truthful about all your struggles in life as well as painting. Your son is adorable! I’ve been dabbling in watercolor for about a year now and look forward to practicing what I’ve learned from you, or at least try. I do have a question though, can I watercolor on wood? I’d like to try a lake scene with a fishing boat. But I just have this vision of the lake and a pier/floater with a crane standing on the rail of the pier. Maybe even shadows of little fish below that the crane is trying to catch. But all of this on wood, not paper or canvas. Can it be done? Blessings to You and Your Beautiful Family
hey lady (smiling over here) I am so proud of how mine came out.I really love the lake landscapes since im not to great with like the ocean water but i love anything oceanic anyway back when i started i did a landscape in oils a winter scene with something similar that i love and i actually did my mailbox in acrylics was fun to do.I really enjoyed that so much this one i can actually frame it and be happier about it.can you do some more landscapes and the color theory mixing i enjoyed as well helped me to remember how to come with certain colors i have forgotten to make thanks i have just a few pieces of arches left and want to use them wisely :P

I like the idea of dropping in clean water for clouds and water ripples. Just a suggestion - why not rent a cottage for a week - that way you get the enjoyment with out the major cash and time commitment - to see if you like it.
