    -"Grammar is defined as the structure of a language," the professor shouted.
    -"We may only estimate whether it is derived from this structure itself or something else."

    Could you, please, provide us with a lesson on the use of "as far as", such as "as far as something goes", "as far as something is concerned", and "as something goes". Thank you very much for your excellent lessons.

      Rogerio Skywalker 👨🏻‍🏫 Hello, Rogelio. Mr Teacher here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I have an answer to your question.
      These phrases refer to how much we know about something or how much we can do about something. We have to decide on something without having all the information or knowledge or skills to manage it. Otherwise we would be unable to deal with the matter at all. Some examples are as follows - ‘As far as I could tell, two men were in the getaway car.’ (But there might have been three men.)
      ‘As far as that solution goes, it answers only part of the problem.’ ‘As far as I am concerned, their is no reason to continue the discussion as it is getting us no further forward.’
      Kind regards from 👨🏻‍🏫 and my feline companion 🐈 who appears in the thumbnail picture.

      @sirmeowthelibrarycat 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vivel Oumma 👨🏻‍🏫 Hello, Vivek. Mr Teacher here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I have an answer to your question. These expressions mean the same. They are useful as variations of speech or in writing to avoid repetition. They refer to reasons for something happening or not happening. For example ‘Because of the bad weather we cancelled our holiday.’ ‘Due to heavy snowfall, the airport was closed.’ ‘Owing to unforeseen circumstances the meeting was postponed until next month.’ ‘On account of staff absences productivity fell 3% last quarter.’
      Kind regards from 👨🏻‍🏫 and my feline companion 🐈 who appears in the thumbnail picture.

    Hi Alex
    Please We need to make a lessons about how to write a reports, it’s very vital

    • @sirmeowthelibrarycat
      @sirmeowthelibrarycat 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahmed Al Taee 👨🏻‍🏫 Hello, Ahmed. Mr Teacher here in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I have an answer to your question. When you write a report you must use the Indirect tense or Passive voice. That means you do not use personal pronouns - ‘I’ or ‘Me’ or ‘We’ or any others. Try to find examples of reports and look at the writing style the author used. Popular newspapers are a start, as are popular technical magazines. Try National Geographic or Scientific American as a start. There are many examples of reports by competent journalists online. Try to find one on a subject that interests you then practice by copying part of it yourself.
      Kind regards from 👨🏻‍🏫 and my feline companion 🐈 who appears in the thumbnail picture.

    Hi, Alex! I hope you read our comments...
    Please, do not be insulted and do understand me right! 🙏🏽
    I love your videos and appreciate your work 👍🏻
    But I have an impression that you are being a little bit kitschy in your last videos.
    “Love you, Brazil” - what did it meat?! You are not a clown, you are a teacher!! Please, rewatch your old videos - how serious could you be!!!!
    And if a very much mediocre girl at her twenties can afford those kitschy things, a man who is over 45 absolutely may not!
    Please, do not be offended. I love you, but I want your lessons to be serious again 🙏🏽
    Alex! Your teaching style is just fantastic. Your knowledge is gigantic! But, please, be more serious!

    • @engvidAlex
      @engvidAlex  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ronen, I appreciate your honest feedback. I realize I can't please everybody with my levels of seriousness or comedy, as some people also find my serious videos "boring." My earlier videos probably seemed more serious because I was quite nervous on camera and was afraid of making any mistakes. Over the years, I've become more comfortable in front of the camera, which has allowed me to show some of my personality in addition to transmitting information.
      I will still always do my best to make sure the information I provide is of high quality, that my lessons are clear, and that students feel like they have learned something. However, I will also occasionally sing or make an inside joke on camera because I feel more comfortable doing so.
      I hope you will stick around for the content, but I have no plans to make my videos totally serious 100% of the time, and I also respect and understand if that turns you off.
