what i like MOST about those old robot battles, is that people had common sense, tried their best to be in control of the bot and were proud of their own good driving, most of them were good drivers, but nowdays it's vice versa ... 90% of people are just bashing buttons and spinning around and giggling over their own incompetence ... how can you be proud of your own incompetence? just look at precision of most of those drivers, specially hypnodisk, chaos2, razer, tornado, panic attack ..etc ..etc. it's so much more fun to watching battles where both can drive well.
Big fan of the more controlled style of robot fighting and the limitations of the early bots encourage it. This is why I always preferred the robotwars format over the battlebots format because the arena had a lot more hazards to utilise. I didn't realise this until I was watching some bb clips and half of them were just two spinners crashing into each other over and over again until something broke or a high powered flipper just launching a bot in the air over and over with no direction. It's impressive machinery don't get me wrong but there are some great rw fights where very little damage gets done.
@@finleyjennings6051I'm going to share my opinion with you here.Generally I think RW is more about entertainment and just madness, that's why I prefer the classic series of just carnage. But I am more of a battlebots fan and BB is more of a hardcore sport imo,the reason why you'll see more spinners is because they are just more competitive. Also, bet you'll hate the Robo-Games arena lol

Tornado beat the USA in the extreme warriors season 2 international championships episode when he pitted General Chompsalot 2 from Wisconsin to win the crown!.
Due to a bunch of these American robots being built for the US pilot of Robot Wars (which had different rules and weight values), most of these were terrible, and even Ming 2 was better than 3/4 of them! However, Frenzy is definitely a good robot with a powerful hammer and put up some good fights. Congratulations to Mortis for finally winning a trophy, took 4 wars and a lot of controversy for this, and even in this War of Independence, the producers *still* didn't want them to go through! They wanted Panic Attack to go through in the semi-final, so much that they had the fight redone after Mortis won the first time! Mortis won again so they were forced to let Mortis into the final, which was great for them as it meant they finally won! It deserved to enter retirement with a victory!
