It's funny when he talks about the folk music soothing his heard of cows in 1970 then thinking about how they'd react to hearing the likes of Stormzy and Jay-Z in the 21st century 😄
But just because someone has been, it doesn’t make them better than someone who hasn’t. Sadly we live in a society in the UK where people are obsessed with showing off their house, car, holidays, posting everything about their lives on social media, afraid that other people have better lives than them. Attention seekers simply lack in confidence if they need “likes” to make them happy.
@@oddities-whatnot lmfao What an embarrassing comment you've posted. Clearly shows you didn't read the OP's post and just waffled. Nowhere did Steve insinuate that he is better than those that haven't attended, but you however, took it that way. Speaks volumes about you Simon. Stay safe.
So many old school Glastonbury people hate what the festival did to their once peaceful paradise. The festival completely destroyed the peace and tranquility that once existed there. Over time, the population went up hugely, drugs and crime became a terrible problem, locals were priced out of the area and noise and pollution became ubiquitous there. And it all started with one guy - Eavis - trying to clear his overdraft.
How did this fake end up with knighthood ? Alarm bells ring whenever there’s a gong from the royal family in involved !! Do not trust this man and his back story
"We've got about 30 stewards and securicor on the gates", love it. We did a lot of festivals around this time, its a shame that some the idiots at the Isle of Wight ruined the vibe by demanding that all festivals be free, and tried to pull all the fences down. By the way, those toilets looked posh compared to some of the festivals I went to then!
Instead he got a trashed farm, sht in the bushes, angry neighbours and rubbish for miles and I’ll sure he put himself before his cows because they would have been prettified by the noise if todays animals are an example. He appears very naive and simple.
Disgraceful man. The way he lied to the media and public about Christopher Shale’s death at Glastonbury in 2011 being a “suicide situation” when it in fact was a heart attack was appalling.
who cares if he mistakenly identified the cause of a rando tory mp's death a day later? as so did the police? and so did all msm right-wing rags (including the times, the express and the mail). you know michael eavis isn't the nation's top toxicologist right? he could only relay information that he had been given and to think that's a slight on his character is laughable. hope you always bring up a dead tory when insulting a public figure as at least that cushions the blow somewhat. would call you a "disgraceful man" but i feel like "man" is probably a stretch in this situation.
One man’s dream turned into one of the biggest music festivals in the world. When you have the right mentality you can achieve anything.

Well said that man 👏🏻
love this kind of programs xxxxx
Crazy to think the amount of traffic this event causes across the country now, lol.
Best festival in the world. If you’ve never been, you have no idea how amazing it is.

It'll never catch on!
I’ve met , as many call him mr Eavis , genuinely friendly guy - will stop and talk to anyone.
Wish England was still like this.
Absolutely
Oh God no!! It was awful back then. We've moved on and progressed so much, it's great to see.

Awful in what way?

Michael responded Wonderfully. So pleased I made it to the festival.
It used to be a wonderful festival..

Never saw such toilets at the 1971 Fair, which was free from the start.
Wonder what Eavis makes of what it has become.
Think it's safe to say the overdraft has probably been cleared.
Will never take off. What an absurd idea.
Made in England
It was way better when he had a bigger say, his daughter has ruined it for me. Turned it from a family vibe to a young posh pop festival.
