Iam very beginner about thia stuff, iam spend few hours following your tutorial, starting from how to install voicemeeter,, and my headphones and 5.1 speaker sound more amazing right now, Previously iam not very satisfied about my 5.1 speaker not very surround, but now its sound more suround, thanks a lot
Thanks for a great video. But you didn't show the "connection" tab in HeSuV and i cant find any information about it in the tutorials. I'm not sure what's the right choice is here for my setup. Ill got stereo headphones connected via USB-RF. If i select "virtualization" for the front output at the top it seems to work sound wise but I cannot determine whether I have done this correctly. VB only shows stereo and it is logical as HeSuV only sends a stereo signal but should I change the other three outputs as well?
Not likely. EAPO 1.3 works just fine. Please check which audio devices are used in Windows and EAPO and restart the computer when you think everything is set correctly.
You could try Spatial Sound Card New Audio Technology. The simplest version, L, costs 9€ and has a 30-day trial. I only use the New York room, I don't need more. It has a compressor-limiter, and +10dB gain if needed. Before, I used a logitech G430 headset because they had DTS HX V1, and with V2 they went to virtualization by objects or something like ATMOS, so I looked for another alternative. And SSC sounds very good, it has several dampings.
Hi, the problem with any virtual surrorund / binauralizer is that everyone has a different head and ear shape, so something that works amazing for you may sound unacceptable for me. HeSuVi is good not just because it is free, but because it allows you to try many different HRTFs to find what works for you.
I'm using a Xonar DGX soundcard and when I install EQAPO as well as HeSuVi, the master volume in HeSuVi does nothing and I'm trying to troubleshoot but nothing works. Any suggestions?
my sound aways broken frequency like noise. so i'm skiping voice meeter and i'll try VB-CABLE. trying to fix this way. (my fone is 16bits 48000) using Voice Meeter Banana A1 like 24bits 48000. maybe changing latency i can fix. but im bored tryin changes with voice meeter. now i'll only check VB-Cable. if any know about it. to fast FIX. tell me please!
Hi, you can read more about Binauraliser here: sourceforge.net/p/mesh2hrtf-tools/wiki/Everyday_use_of_SOFA_HRTF/#list-of-hrtf-applications I consider HeSuVi an entry-level, easy to set-up solution. SPARTA Binauraliser will not sound different if you just need 7.1 sound, but it has advantages that it can be used with headtracking, can natively load SOFA files (if you have those) and when used in audio production software, allows binauralization of up to 64 audio channels (for example 7th order Ambisonics or 9.1.6 Atmos-like layouts).
hello, im not sure if you know how to fix this issue, but i downloaded voicemeeter after hesuvi and now i cant get hesuvi to work, i think it could be because hesuvi is trying to apply the hrir to my original device and not the voicemeeter one, but i dont know how to fix this.
Yes, HeSuVi works with 7.1, 5.1 all the way to just 2.0 stereo - with just 2-channels it is not be surround, but HeSuVi would give you binaural effect of 2 speakers placed in front of you. In practice 5.1 and 7.1 are close enough that I would just use your native 5.1 mode instead of installing VoiceMeeter to get full 7.1 support. Also if you use 5.1, you will have no worries with compatibility (Windows, games and media players quite often mix up rear and side surrounds in 7.1 mode - it is a crazy Windows thing).
@Sergejs_on_sound thanks for the reply. Yeah I noticed that when using voicemeeter for 7.1 in battlefield one which only supports 5.1 it sends the rear audio to the side channels. Will stick with the sound card.
Hi serg, can u share your converted hrtf file so we can insert into hesuvi so we can try it ourself? Unfortunately creating a personal one would require instruments which would be too expensive. Tjanks
HeSuVi comes with the best HRTF selection out of the box. Plus there are additional HRTFs to try if you check out Binaural audio Discord. There is little use in sharing individual simulated HRTFs because they are too-individual - if you want to apply the same HRTF to multiple people, they should be more forgiving, more vague. So you are better off using one of the provided HeSuVi HRTFs that sounds best to you, or go all the way and simulate/measure + equalize own HRTF just for you.
@@Sergejs_on_sound which is the best hrtf for a logitech z506 setup but only using 3 speakers (front, right and left) instead of 5. And any reccomandtions?
step 1 - download 2 programs (hesuvi + equalizer APO) step 2 - open a program i did not tell you to download or how to propperly install (voicemeeter) step 3 - download and install voicemeeter on my own. my computer no longer has sound step 4 - unninstall everything and give up.
As you can see, HeSuVi is not plug and play - if you need something more basic, there are plenty of commercial virtual surround sound headsets that *could* just work well enough for you, or not. There is a reason why even the best virtual surround headsets usually have plenty of poor reviews or that people disable the 7.1 sound feature in them ;)

Appreciate the video and the walk through. Got a clean setup now
You are welcome!
Very helpful. Thank you very much for this info.
Got it all working perfectly, you're a legend
I did everything but not all the 7.1 channels are heard, I went step by step, I restarted the PC but nothing works, it is still stereo
Thanks for a great video.

Is Voice Meeter itself essential for this to work? Is there no way the seperate and lighter Voice Meter Virtual Cable might suffice?
Equalizer APO 1.3 don't work with virtual cable? I installed it and when I click a different HRIRs in HeSuVi still sounds the same nothing changes.

Only question is what is that Binauraliser plug-in you mentioned, why do you have it, and why would I want it?

Voice meter is no longer recommended. Use VB Cable instead.

You can uninstall equaliser apo and thats it
