I've been driving this CVT for over a year and its still terrible. I'm a professional driver. It's still whiney although an improvement from previous models, it still sticks at 3000 revs and you have to take your foot off the throttle and place back on for it to go down to the 2000 rev limit. The jagged auto shifter is a pain I would rather have an auto transmission like the Fords, that goes in a straight line. However having said that I can't fault this car in any other way and have found it to be the best all rounder of all SUV's.

Cvt should not be used in SUV because of their inherently tall lowest gear ratio. This makes it sluggish off the line and it makes towing a trailer or boat a pain in the ass on up hills and acceleration. Specially with a weak 166hp engine... Forget about it

Good video, I own a 2017 outlander sel , and I’m happy with it , but there are some things Mitsubishi definitely need to improve on for us men, like Bigger Wider wheels , why not put 20 inch wheels standard with enough width to accommodate at least a tire diameter of 255 or more .......the wheels look decent from the sides but totally anorexic from the back......are you watching Mitsubishi step your wheel game up , and the muffler needs to be moved out of sight , why can’t you put duel exhaust tips and hide the muffler under the dam car .....

This cvt transmission is kind of like a manual transmission. If it seems to want to stay at a high rpm, quickly let off the gas pedal and press on the gas pedal again.
I have the 2017 2.4L and it has over 125,000 miles so far. Engine and transmission still runs like new. I serviced the transmission at 80,000 miles and still works perfectly. No major issues at all.
