After about a quarter century, on 11 May 1998, Operation Shakti (Pokhran-II) was carried out; Shakti was the codename for the nuclear devices that were detonated. The term Shakti (Hindi: शक्ति) refers to the cosmic energy of Hinduism.

Growing up in 90s, with zero knowledge of Politics watching Lok sabha live telecast on doordarshan, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a gem of a person to listen to. It's because of orating skills of Vajpayee and Pramod Mahajan I started watching Lok Sabha Telecasts during the days when Shaktiman used to be our top priority. His witty remarks, shayris and visionary thinking made me idolise him.
The speeches are readily available of youtube for reference which will still give goosebumps on any given day.
I would without any hesitation call him to be my first political idol. Leaders come and leaders go but Vajpayee ji was someone whom you would look with Respect and dignity. Not many politicians can carry that tag with them. A righteous man who very well deserved to be called as Bharat Ratna.
Very much disheartened to hear about his demise. The void created by death of such a leader can never be filled.
