My husband walks into book shops so he can smell new books. You aren't alone in smelling pages.
Ooo! I love that he seeks them out! I might have to give that a go!
@@TheFoldLine I feel this could become a whole new movement with its own socials where people share the best places for new book/magazine smelling 🤣
I totally get the magazine smell thing, gorgeous 😊
Great patterns Kate xx
I love our Sunday mornings together Kate! Thanks so much!
I'm so glad to be part of your week!
The term you were searching for Kate, is a triathlete. Great patterns. I always look forward to having my coffee early Sunday morning in the US and getting a glimpse of all the new patterns and companies out there. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you so much for watching and for confirming the word that escaped me!
😂 you made my morning as per usual! Between the magazine sniff and trying to explain the tri-suit pattern…. As my mom used to say, you are a treasure! XOX
Awwwww! That's lovely. If in doubt... use a spot of humour!!

A active wear episode would be lovely. Please add a little section about fabrics as well. 😅
I thought I was the only person in the whole wide world who loves the smell of a good book or magazine! My husband always has a giggle when I open a book and smell it. My current read is so dissapointingly bereft of a good smell. 🤣
We are kindred spirits!
I do too! I always smell a book! I also have happy childhood memories of the smell of bookshops :)
Love watching your new pattern round up with a cup of tea on a Sunday morning 😊☕️ (and very much enjoyed you describing the tri suit 😉)
Ha ha ha! I find my own way of describing anything!
Love the Taulo Tabbard - cover shot - brilliant take on a traditional work wear piece - would be great warm layer for children without having to worry about them keeping the coat done up or on, especially if elastic at the sides---Perfect -
That's a great point!
I enjoyed hearing you talk about triathlons 😂
I love your videos and the naturalness of them. I’ve never noticed the smell of magazines before although I shall indeed check this out! This is part of your quirky personalty that makes your videos interesting as well as informative.
Thanks so much! I do love chatting about patterns!
The thread theory work pants look fantastic!! The knee patches could be finished to allow for the insertion of knee pads. Very useful.
That's a great idea!
Those Itch to Stitch pants are perfect! I love your videos ❤
Glad you like them!
As an older and a bit chunkier Triathlete or person who does triathlons cos a can't say me and athlete in the same sentence, the opportunity to make my own trisuit is great. You wear it under your wetsuit so that you can pull off the wetsuit after the swim and be all set for the cycle and then the run. I find it hard to get a decent fit unless going highend which I can't justify for reasons above, I also think they cater more for men with the main brands. I might tri this pattern....excuse me!!!
Fehr Trade makes some really nice patterns. Melissa started her business when she just couldn't find gear she liked.
Good stuff! I very much appreciate you tri-ying!
Thanks, Kate! Lovely to see you today! Great roundup. I smell books, magazines, babies' heads, laundry. I am not a triathlete but I know they swim. And that pattern is so great looking, it almost makes me want to do it but...
Obviously I don't know your personal situation, but, FWIW, my sister started doing triathlons in her 40s. She completed a full Ironman when she was 48. She still does short triathlons. So go for it if you're interested! There are also tri relays where there are three people and each does one leg of it (either swim, bike, or run), which is convenient if one of the bits just isn't your thing. (I like to swim and bike but my knees and ankles shout at me if I try to run and my ortho doc told me to cut it out. I was relieved to have an official excuse not to run. 😆)
Thanks for sharing!!
The word you were looking for is triathlete 😊
Thank you for the pattern review (from a fellow page sniffer👃📚
Glad to have found that I am not the only one!
Kate your so cute, I wouldn’t have a clue about sports either! I think you explained it very well. 😀😘
You're the best! I try!
The sew love top is what the new tilly and the buttons coord top should have been, all the problems with fit just evaporate with the elastic at the back.
It's such a lovely detail. Very simple but so effective and makes fitting much easier!
I'm with you on the "want-to-do" exercising 😅
All the ambition...!
The last top in the magazine looks like an apron!
I was just going to say that but you beat me to it! If you wore it whilst you were shopping everyone would assume that you were one of the shop assistants.
@@janeybwells2810 I thought it looked like the apron my nan used when she was a school dinner lady in the 1980s.
Great patterns ❤. On the Itch to Stitch trouser pattern photo do you know what the top pattern is? I thought it looked great as a co-ord.
Yes! That's the Santorini Tank. It does make a wonderful set! thefoldline.com/product/itch-to-stitch-santorini-tank/
is that a tabard, do you think?
Yes, a tabard feels right!
Triathlete!
or a jillet?
*gilet ☺️
I originally spelled it ‘jilly’ 🤣
Drs don’t mean spellers, sadly,
@@drhelenloney1426 I was always told misspellers were the cleverest of us! 😄
xXX👍👍👍
