I agree many Ibanez guitars have absolutely killer necks. Like Jon, I installed a SD pearly gates in the neck - (mine an Ibanez artist).

Great video, you were talking about the locking nut. I have switched to a Gotoh Floyd with the Gotoh locking nut, Absolutely the best set up for a locking system I have ever used !! just sayin'....

Awesome vid, as usual. Can I ask what camera you use for your videos? Thinking about starting a series of my own and I'm looking for something affordable with HD capabilities. I have an outboard Tascam DP-24SD 24-Track Digital Portastudio that I'd record all the audio to. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not an Ibanez guy, but that is a beautiful instrument. And with my favourite pickup configuration, to boot. Thumbs up for the Pearly Gates pup... That's what I use in the bridge on 3 of my guitars, and also in the neck on two of those.

i would to thank Jon Finn for his great articles on Guitar Magazine and books.
About his Ibanez woods, i think they are:
    neck: 3 pieces maple/walnut
    Body: mahogany
i think it's walnut on neck, because on video appears a little darker than the body.

Hey guys. .. Just wanted to report back.. Your vid on the Fender Elite grabbed me and I found what I thought was a great deal on a 2013 Mint. What a guitar, channel fretboard, flame maple top, birds eye maple neck.. Man what a beauth... Feels great, sounds greatt... thanks for putting me on these. It's one of my nicer guitars.

This guy is a genius! I was the same way as Pixxie, had to be a Floyd. Now, i am down to three, because of the tuning
issues! I am not sure about the tone issues though. Why would that be? Jon's set up is awesome! I just wish they would have played more!!

    hey pixx
those roller fender nuts work great, but there's a cpl things you have to do and not do.
it can't have any kind of liquid lube at all. the friction point where the string touches the ball bearings - not enough contact to be able to make the bearing turn or roll, especially with any kind of non-powder lube, or even no lube at all.
    But there's hope lol
What I did was I used one of those little jars of jewelery cleaner. you know, the ones with the little tray so you can drop something in and retrieve it without pouring the whole thing out.
Soak that puppy in there for a while. you can even use the little brush that comes with the cleaner to make sure the bearing seats don't have any debris or worse, some kind of liquid/paste lube.
Next I used a hair dryer to dry it out. - This is very important - if it isn't dry under the rollers you wind up where you started lol.
Next just dump some powdered graphite in there. flick it a few times and try and roll those rollers to get the graphite under the rollers.
Viola' You're done. well, you still need to put it back on the guitar ...lol.
    Cheers!
    ps, love you're channel
