If you do what you want, you could ended up being the Warrior who slay all the monsters and kill that Dark Lord. Or could even become the new Dark Lord your self and start conquer the world.

In this case, winning is not winning, as you never really beat the higher power. But when he killed himself, he was told he lost, however he actually won because he defeated the higher power and broke the illusion of having to do what he was told. He won because he showed defiance.
Well, I feel as if it’s a game with no real victory, even when he jumps off the lift, the narrator still stands, and nothing really changes. Take the Zending, you make the narrator’s life very hard, but you’re just mean. You attempt to portray your status of power by just torturing the narrator. Oh my god Jack you’re a genius. When you click you hear keys like Stanley is still typing at his desk. I see it as satirical of everyday office life, mindlessly doing e-mails for hours on end in an office building and your brain just goes to random places. Never thought of it that way before.
