- Incredible algae eating daphnia turns water from green to clean in pond with inverted aquarium. After adding a cup full of daphnia and waiting a week it has already colonised to be sufficient amount to clean the green algae bloom from small shallow water, so i place an inverted aquarium so we can take a closer look at this magnificent water creature from different perspective.

Having watched your most interesting video in late summer last year(2022), I decided to purchase some daphnia to place in my UK small garden pond as the water had been green in colour for 15 years. I had tried many remedies (straw, algae chemical treatment and plants), to no avail. The pond does not have any fish in it, as it is a wildlife pond. Well before christmas the water was crystal clear. Now in early spring, the over wintering daphnia eggs have hatched and the daphnia are continuing to keep the water clear. Thank you greatly for your daphnia tip !
