I was in Sweden over the weekend, albeit it was only in Helsingborg. I am sure you are way up north. We "just" had this discussion last week about 8- vs 10-bit recording. We've concluded that if you are using 8-bit recording, then try to record as close as you want the output to be so that the videos won't need editing. Would love to hear your opinion about the Sony XAVC S vs S-I codecs.
I am looking at the ace pro, but I am concerned about the 8 bit. My other channel is smoker BBQ and have issues with light changes throughout the day. Other reviews like the lowlight performance in spite of 8 bit. Thoughts?
Hello Mats, I am a subscriber of yours from TH-cam and I an a photographer in Miami, Florida. I just saw your video of 8bit and 10bit and I am running into a problem with the footage of my DJI Mini 3 Pro when attempting to edit with DaVinci Resolve (free version) and D-Cinelike. When I bring the footage into the software it does not read it. It seems that the free version of resolve does not support it. Do you know of any work-arounds or any advise? thank you for your time.
Hi 👋 Nice to have you here! I really appreciate you being a subscriber! I have not run into any similar issues… but I’m not using DaVinci unfortunately. I’m doing all my work in FCPX. Maybe anyone else reading this comment will have a solution? So sorry that I could not assist in this matter 😳
@@MK-CreatorYes, I have some input here, ran into the same problem, and I think the only thing to do for Davinci Resolve users is to buy the studio version. The free version does not support 10-bit video.
Why all this is a big marketing BS? Because i see the difference on my... 8-bit display. Absolutely most of LCD displays are still 8 bit per colour. For EACH pixel! Which gives us a 16777216 possible colour combinations between each nearby pixel. But banding, why EXACTLY it happens? Dumb people will say "because it's an 8-bit recording". Smart people will say "because you compressed your footage TOO much!" I've seen old promotion videos for high-end plasma displays and there was no banding at all. Why you might ask? Because 8 minutes of this video were almost 22 GBytes in size ^_^ And it was barely compressed 8 bit footage ^_^
Thanks for watching!

Great video. Very helpful. Thx
🤩
That was the best description of 8 and 10 bit on the entire interverse. Seriously!
Awesome video... great explanation of the "why" (when) to use 10 vs 8 bit recording. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much for appreciating this video! It was necessary because of some other videos I have in production. 😎👍
Thanks Bro, and please what about color correction in 10 bit - with Premiere Pro ? can u show how to quick and easy correct color ?

this sounds like something that 'ai' should be able to solve
Great. I needed that ! Now I understand it. Cheers 🥂
😃👍 this video was necessity for some upcoming videos 🥳
The difference is 10 bits minus 8 bits is 2 - That's my 2 bits 😀

Your best video so far, awesome 👍
