Handa -was my first trip in my bidwatching life - when I was 18 we travelled by train to Scotland -postbusto the Ferry then boat to Handa -1978 - and stayed on Handa for several days with the warden - during the next years I went back several times - a great place - also visited Durness -Craft center at that time .
Top stuff yet again Espen 👌 I've used Saal digital about four time in the last three years and can't recommend them enough.....top quality images and products and a fantastic service 👍👌
Thanks so much for taking us, Espen. A beautiful experience! Sidenote: Being from Australia myself, it made me laugh, those Skua chasing you away! Pop over here and get yourself chased by Magpies - they, like most other birds / animals we have out here - want blood and mostly aren't happy until they get it hahaha. Stunning video, thanks again! - Simon
Magical place, great video.Always wait for nature to come to you, far better images. You face told the story when you looked at the back of your camera
Thanks for sharing the trip and tips. I thought about going there next year for Puffin season. Were you able to cover most of the island getting to locations easily? What is the time limit to stay on the island? Thanks.
I don’t think there’s a time limit, but the last boat was at 16:30, it’s a fairly small island so you could make it around it pretty quick and they want you to stay on the paths so there aren’t infinite places to explore. For puffins I would go to Lunga though!
I thought the photos from 2015 were actually quite nice, personally. In Canada we call those guys loons, not divers, had to make sure I heard you right at first haha.
I’ve been looking at that company, but unsure. So I’ll give them a go. I favour aluminium for birds and night stuff as texture looks awesome. (I thought you were going to say the one thing you changed was to switch to Olympus 😊😊 Was all the bird video shot on the om1 too . If so, i need to start using it more
Yes, all close up footage is with the OM-1, it’s really good. Been very impressed with everything I’ve printed so far nd looking to make calendars with them for 2024
Nice video, but could you identify the birds you are photographing, a subscript banner for those of us who don’t get over to Scotland that frequently? Thanks
@@EspenHelland I was also hunted a lot in the Faroe Islands, when looking for puffins 😊 but as soon my hood came on, they kind of ignored 😊 Going back there in 2 years 😊 you wanna join? We don't need to go to the tourist flooded mykines 😊
The island is actually 309ha (not 109ha)

Nice! Really like Durness as well, always stop by when I’m up those parts.
I would be on the same boat Espen for that magical moment even if I might walk out with absolutely nothing! Anyhow, happy for you man. Cheers.
😁👍
Beautiful pictures and video
Thanks a lot 🙂
I went to Handa many years ago and never forgot the experience. It was great to see it again in your video. Keep up the good work.
Nice one! 🙂
Bummer to miss you on Hand this summer!
You were there? How did you get on?

Thanks a lot Ray! Yeah very happy with the prints I’ve got from them so far 👍
I had the same experience with Arctic Skuas on St Kilda, it's quite amazing.
That’s a place I’m dying to visit! I’d happily stay a whole summer on a little island like this.
@@EspenHelland To be honest it's stunning all year round. Sadly I was there before my photography days, mainly into the fishing.
Amazing, that last shot! 💯👏👏👏
Thank you 🙂

😂😂 sounds fun! I’d love to take a trip to Australia one day, but I don’t think I would lie on the ground as much as I do here 🐍🕷️!
Thanks Simon 🙂
Another fantastic video my friend 🎉
Thanks a lot John 🙂

Cheers, im my own harshest critic 😅 yeah it’s so confusing with different names, it’s loons because of their call right?
What kind of camera do you use to make your photography vlogs?
I’ve been looking at that company, but unsure. So I’ll give them a go. I favour aluminium for birds and night stuff as texture looks awesome. (I thought you were going to say the one thing you changed was to switch to Olympus 😊😊

The birds looks unfriendly haha, I want to start my wildlife protography but don't know what filter should I choose? A Kase store nearby.
I don’t regularly use a filter for wildlife photography, mostly just when I’m filming. Some people like to use a protective filter over the glass.
Thanks!
Thank you 🙂 🙏
Hi I have an R6. I have a photo which I would like to frame with saal. About the same size you ordered or would that be too big?( not enough pixels)
I think it should be fine, but it’ll tell you when you upload what quality it is.
@@EspenHelland thank you .
The Birds!! I shoot a lot as digital is cheap and who said they were all average shots?
I definitely shoot a lot as well, but I try to be better about deleting these days. My library is cluttered with images 😅
@@EspenHelland Yes, hard to delete the "children" 🤣

Thanks Fred! Yes I’ll try to remember that 👍
Nice vlog Espen but subtitles not available unfortunately. I've tried on different devices.
Thanks Barry, it may take a little time for TH-cam to generate them.
@@EspenHelland Many thanks 😊
Put your hood on 🤣

You need a helmet.
😂 absolutely!
