In middle school, not only did I play and finish Mother 2 in Japanese via the Mother 1+2 game (where the items and stats are in English but everything else was in Japanese), I also played and finished Mother 1. All before finishing Mother 3.
I do wonder exactly what the logic behind the grindfest in early JRPGs was. Did they envisage maybe kids coming home from school and playing it every day then getting to plot progression at the weekend? I get the point about how they used to make games hard in order to make short games seem longer, but it seems especially extreme in the JRPG genre.
Favourite Final Fantasy will always be 7, it's the one I've played the most as a kid and love for nostalgia reasons, plus Cloud was my favourite Final Fantasy character as a kid. I also liked 8 a lot, but the downside to 8 was how long it is, especially if you're trying to 100% complete everything. 10 wasn't bad either, but 10x was awful.
13:15 gooey extra-crispy soda sounds like you put the soda in the freezer till the outside turned to ice and the inside was like a slushy syrup.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I plan on releasing Cup Tallies on a graph on the last Friday of December, like I did last year.
