Watching you paint with Henri Roche pastels feels almost as luxurious as I imagine they feel to use. You can see how richly they lay down the pigment - like velvet or butter. You use them beautifully.

I love you old world color choices and style... Do you use references... If so... Where do you choose them from?

Simply exquisite! The colors blend so beautifully! And I must ask, do you use a workable fixative before going in with pastels? How does the graphite from the pencil not muddy up the colors? I have some sennelier pastels and would love to start using them. But I’m so scared lol I know it’s silly.

No I don't use any fixative. The charcoal drawing is rather light and so it doesn't interfere with the pastels much at all when you go over it. There have been times I've used a light watercolor was over the drawing just to tone the paper, and that seals it in itself. It muddies the wash slightly but it doesn't matter since you're going over it with pastels any who. Sennelier is great! Hope you get to play with them!

Спасибо за видео. Для Вас небольшое стихотворение: Не открытый, невидимый мир,
    В сиянии, крылатого блеска,
    Мираж, в сияющей синеве.

Will portrait workshop be available for purchase to those who missed it live?

Yes actually. It's up now. I held the class last week and made a temporary recording for the group to watch again if needed. You can email me at: anduartist@gmail.com for details. I keep the temporary video up for approx. 3 months for the group and can give access to those who sign up. I also offer email feedback on your portrait from the session as part of the class.

Do you have a brand recommendation for someone who wanted to start learning? Something affordable so I don’t shy away from experimenting? TIA ^^

If in the US, I'd recommend Blick Pastel sticks. They are relatively cheap and can let you get a feel for pastels if it's your first time. You can also try Stabilo Carbethello pastel pencils.
