    LOL I live in Washington state, and the WA in your title caught my attention. The accent threw me off but i figured, ok this is youtube people live everywhere, there could be someone from australia here..... nope. But i will finish the video and that will lead me to checking out australian geology, and then i shall compare that to our local geology, and thus increase my knowledge of gold, thank you sir.

      @dimracrhamacid1756 I'm actually in Oregon but I mostly prospect in Skamania County. Nothing spectacular gold wise down here compared to your area.

      @@sammyshreds Same here! Live in Mountlake terrace but looking to find somewhere further north (in Snohomish County) to pan. Washington government websites make it so hard to find public lands with access points.

      It's not a guarantee that you will find gold at any of these locations, but it significantly stacks the odds in your favour. .

    That line as you call it follows the bardoc tectonic zone
    It’s a heavily mineralized region that follows fault lines and subsequent basaltic lava flow
    A lot of the gold in the area has sheared from orogenic gold deposits and either lies around that area in structure like greenstone or in eroded sediments of those structures

    Another great video, Bruce, and very helpful. The downside to all the drilling and ground disturbing activity is going to be the amount of junk that's been left behind...nails, rusty tin, bits of wire, etc...but there is likely to be an increased chance of finding gold in the areas that you have identified!

    • @Part_Time_Prospector
      @Part_Time_Prospector  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's very true! Drillers sure leave a lot of junk around :)

    Thank you for your help. If you were to pick a place to live or base yourself for prospecting in WA what town would you live as we my wife and son are moving to WA to live?

    • @Part_Time_Prospector
      @Part_Time_Prospector  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From a purely prospecting point of view, any town in the goldfields makes it a short drive to prospective ground. Kal would be good, so would leonora or coolgardie. Hope that helps!

  • @GoldfieldsGoose

    Pulled a Three Ounce nugget out of that area you were looking at plus another Ounce in nuggies about 8 years ago.. That's the Gunga Gold Mine and I'm pretty sure the Landgate imagery is out of date....there's a Big hole there now and I can tell you from experience all around that area has been absolutely hammered by local prospectors. you might pick up a few grams if you go hard with a GPX 6000.
    If you live in the city and you want to drive 6 hours out this way, do yourselves a favor and keep going past Kalgoorlie and head out into Yundamindra or Porphyry area.. Look at area's with Banded Iron, Laterite and definitely any contact zones you can get to, Its nice to Detect around the old workings if you like digging trash all day, I guarantee you will do better just swinging your detector over good looking ground with no workings....easier said than done of course.
    Cheers mate great Video, I wanted to do something like this but never got around to it, you did a fantastic job of it 🍻👍

    • @Part_Time_Prospector
      @Part_Time_Prospector  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 3 ounce nugget find must have been a real buzz! I totally agree the Landgate footage is old, I believe they only fly areas when requested by local LGAs. So some areas haven't been filmed in a decade or more. Pity geoview doesn't have other sources of Imagery.
      I chose that area purely to demonstrate the techniques.
      You've got some great videos up on your channel, I would recommend others definitely check them out.
      Stay safe!

    What about the areas that show drilling and historic mining activity but have no shading (blue or green)?

  • @johntrueblue
    @johntrueblue ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im confused cause when i look around say south of coolgardie there looks to be a blue area inside a green area 13Klm just south of Kangaroo Hill.
    So to me thats saying there is a pending area in a no prospecting (green) zone!.
    The blue zone is pending and belongs to EASTERN COOLGARDIE GOLDFIELDS PTY LTD.
    So how is it saying you can work in the blue but it sitting in a Green active area.

    • @Part_Time_Prospector
      @Part_Time_Prospector  ปีที่แล้ว

      Go to only those areas that are just blue. Stay away from the green aeeas and the blue and green areas.
      Hopefully that helps!

      Sure can! All you need is a valid Western Australian prospector's right. Costs about AUD$25-30 and off you go!
