As long as I have more views than the times I viewed it myself, I am happy :) So thanks for watching! Already started working on the new documentary for LD37
I am getting ready for my first Ludem Dare, so I am watching a whole bunch of post mortems. This is one of the best edited ones I have seen, very enjoyable to watch. Great work!
Woah, this video actually made me subscribe. Amazing! I thought you had like 500k subs, but nope! You deserve way more. Don't ever give up and you WILL become successful. This video is super funny and enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
fantastic video! super high quality. I'm still finding my feet in game making. I'm meeting a group of devs tomorrow should be a big help glad you use game maker that's what I use too 😊
As someone who is preparing for my first Ludum Dare, I found this video to be the best example as to what to expect. I can't wait for the inevitable pain, potential pleasure and pride that comes with this excellent event. My only regret, I won't be able to travel around beautiful Bavaria (and get some delicious looking food/beverage) for inspiration. Anyway, I'm excited to see what you come up with this time! Also, your video quality is exceptional- I feel like I just watched something on the Discovery channel... Great job!!
Yes, it's a rollercoaster of emotions but totally worth it, if not for the result, at least for the experience of it all. For LD#38 I'm shaking things up a little for myself... Thanks for watching and all the best for your first Ludum Dare. And stock up on yummy nomnoms! ;)
WOW! I can't believe it one of my theme suggestions (Hive Mind) made it to the final round! Talk about beginner's luck, I was just so excited I had to tell you Pixel P ;)
Oh wow, congratulations!! My suggestions never made it far haha. And t seems like that's a good omen for your LD jamming then. I hope you got some ideas for your own theme already. All the best, NinJaRed!
@9:07 did you timelapse the sky on your phone, or did you use some star device, or was this a special effect in a computer? Maybe both? It's very clever and so natural I didn't pickup on it till now that the sky doesn't just do that. ;-)
Thank you! That was an actual time lapse photographed with my Canon EOS 5D Mk. 2, made possible by the MagicLantern firmware hack. It was a wide angle view but with such a resolution that I could do the pan upwards digitally. Also, I had to de-noise the shot substantially. 😅 Hope this helps!
Hey! I really like your video, it's very cool and interesting to see how you do to make a game in a weekend, you deserve thousands of suscribers, keep doing stuff like this please!
Thank you very much! Well, I'm slowly getting there. I am not actively focusing my efforts on amassing subscribers, I only want my upcoming videos to be interesting & good enough to attract people naturally. :)
I consider myself a fan of this channel, and mostly of this series. But something kept pushing me to watch this video again again. This gives me inspiration for my own LD game.
This video was very entertaining xD. Your editing and camera work is great, and I love the game references. I thought I recognised Salzburg, I went there a couple of months ago.
I seriously cant believe you got a kopiko packet there lying around in the one minute mark, and its not the thai cappucino version, no my friend here has probably one of the strongest coffee candies in the world, I seriously did not know you knew about this! And that strong sour flavour xD this made the video for me!
Awww thank you for spotting such a little detail! I used to enjoy them while coding a few years back but then realized how much sugar and caffeine I was actually taking in. But it's so hard to stop, I love the flavor! 😋
Where you live, both inside your home and outside are amazing. My own home and surroundings feel terrible in comparison and yet strangely I feel inspired. Maybe I can redecorate and reorganise inside my home at least.
Thank you! A little decorating goes a long way, because when you look up from your screen and your eyes catch something that inspires you, something with an emotional value, that goes a long way :)
The perfect irony. It's like I re-lived LD36. Great to know that you are not alone in their adventures. Alone to conquer the invisible mountain. Looking forward to Christmas LD37.
Hope your coffee is prepared! I try to attend as well with my very first game xD lets see how this will work out :D I hope you livestream a bit of your work to watch others struggle :)
Stocked up on coffee and coconut water for what's to come. I won't livestream, because I am a terrible streamer, but I've already started shooting some stuff for the next documentary video :)
@@PixelProphecy That's fine! I love all your content. LD 41 was my first and I really enjoyed that I had to wake up late at night to see the theme announcement, then immediately get to work on finding a theme. I made it that the amount of space you had to traverse was getting smaller and smaller till it was nearly impossible. I called it "Hell Runner" and the on only reason I entered the Jam was because of you. I was a indie developer before but your videos motivated me into entering the jam. Have a great day! And I hope everything goes well!
Hey Sam, thank you very much! I'm glad you found it as entertaining to watch as it was fun to make. Getting undivided attention for 19 minutes (on TH-cam!) is pretty amazing. So thanks for watching!
Ancient technology? I should have lent you my PC to do the dev work on! ;-) The Zone! Every creative nerd wants to exist in The Zone. It's like The Nexus in Star Trek Generations in that respect. Thanks, it was an interesting mini-documentary.
Could have at least made her eyes blink!!! Haha. Great stuff, inspirational video. Felt real in the sense that you showed fatigue and that you are just human like the rest of us. Ive seen so many ludum dare videos where they just show the game progress and not the difficulty involved. So i salute you sir.
Pixel Prophecy you really inspire me to develop games, i used to code gml back in gm7 and 8 and some in studio. But then went for web development, i will be getting back with gms 2. Btw, can't wait for ludum dare 38 post mortem.
+r4xe Thank you, that's cool! Web dev is fun, but to me games are just ... magic! And GMS2 is real fun, the new GUI is much better. Hope to see you participating in an LDJam!
Awesome! So the places in the video should be all too familiar to you then ;) And all the best with becoming a game dev. It's a lot of fun, so give participating in Ludum Dare #41a thought or two.

Very well made, i could relate a lot to the pitfalls of pondering too long on an idea, sleep deprivation and not being able to implement what you first planned :) Very enjoyable. (i wish i could see a documentary like that from managore, how does he do it?!! )
Thank you for the praise, glad that you enjoy my videos! But I prefer sitting at home in my comfy chair than go out and spend weeks lying in the mud only to get that perfect shot of a cheetah at a watering hole ;)

Thank you! Well, to be fair, I just uploaded it 6 hrs ago ;)
one month on and this is highly underappreciated.
As long as I have more views than the times I viewed it myself, I am happy :) So thanks for watching! Already started working on the new documentary for LD37
Pixel Prophecy Yus!
Looking forward to your LD37 vid!
This is brilliantly made and very, very enjoyable! If games stop working out Id defiantly watch you as a filmmaker.
Thank you very much! Well, games never quite worked out, so it's good to know to have a Plan D in my pocket ;)
Your videos were the sole inspiration I got into game development, thanks!
Great video. Very entertaining and it's great to watch how other people work through jams. Thanks for sharing!
I am getting ready for my first Ludem Dare, so I am watching a whole bunch of post mortems. This is one of the best edited ones I have seen, very enjoyable to watch. Great work!

Your video is great as always. It was a delight to watch. Thanks!
And thank YOU for watching! :)
this is really entertaining to watch
Just found this. You are a very good storyteller. "The last sun rays of Sunday" made me chuckle.
Hehe thank you! I try to keep the writing interesting because there's just so much voice-over ;)
Love your style of story telling. Amazing
+Paul Vanmetre How nice! And thank you very much for watching! :)
Dude, very much enjoyed watching your workflow.
Also, the quality of video is phenomenal!!
Happy to hear that!
The effort put into this is unreal keep up videos like this and I'll be impressed +1 subscriber :D
Finally! I was waiting this for so long man. Thank you for making these. keep up the awesome work!!!
Thanks! I hope I come up with a *good* game for once, too ;)

Thank you, Evakz! Yeah, I'm a pretty small channel but I prefer quality over quantity among my subscribers anyway. So thanks for becoming one!
No problem! Always go quality over quantity

Thank you! And welcome to the Game Maker community :)
Forth time I am marathoning your Ludum Dare Post Mortem videos
Amazingly edited
Amazingly organised!
Can't stop and won't stop watching these!
Yay, thank you! New one about to drop in a few hours!
So excited!
I subscribed! the amount of polish in this video is greater than many videos from youtubers with millions of subs. Keep up with the good job!
Hey Alvaro! Thanks for watching and that you enjoyed the video. Sad thing is that polish takes time. But the next episode is already under way :)
As someone who is preparing for my first Ludum Dare, I found this video to be the best example as to what to expect.

"And with 3 minutes before the very final deadline... I released my finger from the trigger and then it was over." Awesome, just awesome! :D
Very awesome video. Glad to see i'm not the only person that occasionally struggles really hard coming up with ideas at the beginning.
Just found your channel and I gotta say I love your filming/editing style
+LAWDhavemuhsee Thank you very much for watching! :) Glad you find my stuff enjoyable and well edited. I'm learning by doing! ;)
I'd love it if you and other ludum dare you tubers did a jam together it would be the best game ever
We probably wouldn't get any work done because we'd all just busy setting up out cameras ;)
Man this was beautiful. How is this such a small channel/how does this vid only have 16k views?
+Will Dinse Thank you, Will! And probably because I am bad at marketing... So please share and tell your friends! ;)
Really great video, wonderful pacing of the story. Had me at the edge of my seat the whole time
Oh wow, thank you! :)
wow u make really interesting documentaries! u got urself one subscriber :)

This game has so much potential! I love it! Great Work hope to see You next post mortem (Ludum Dare 41)

:D You replied!

why does the coffee place have parts of a japanese newspaper in there... is this the material that the gameboy pocket from japan was cushened in?

Thanks for introducing me to NoLife radio.. also great video.. so thats the dark side of Ludum Dare
You're welcome! And thanks for watching. I've yet to see the "bright side" of LD... ;)
subbed u deserve it bro!
Yay! Thanks :)
Which program do you use for programming? :D
+Nedja Hi Nedja! Game Maker Studio, or recently Unity.
Yea Unity is good, Thanks You 😊
what software did you use to write your ideas ? (the blue old school one)

Thank god for Jim.
what game development engine ur using

Why the heck would you pass up on ancient ghost busters?
Because apart from the line "ancient ghost busters" I completely blanked on how that would look like and play. Maybe one day I'll pick that idea up again. "Ancient Ghost Busters." Has a nice ring to it actually...
*ring!*
"Erm... hello?"

"Oh."
I am more interested in the food, it definitely isn't ramen noodles rumored to be a staple in game jams.
I've had way too much ramen in college to last me a lifetime ;)
dude you should be a film maker
Oh, thank you! Well, that is my Plan B, since making games isn't working out that much, apparently ;)
Best part by far was the street fighter theme
Glad you liked it, Nate!
