Rule of thumb: For output, dust = w e a k, everything else = STRONK For input, dust needs STRONK, but everything else can run on _snickers_ w e a k every redstoner: imma use dust
I love how you present these concepts. It's entertaining in a way that all audiences can enjoy it. It also reminds me of the old mcspotlight videos which were attached to the minecraft wiki.
So most of us who are relatively intermediate (like myself) already have an "intuition" for these interactions but if you're like me, have a really shitty self-explanation for these phenomena which makes teaching it to others difficult. This is what separates intermediate from expert. Very well put
This feature actually makes sense when you think about what would happen if there wasn't weak and strong power: redstone dust into a block could power redstone dust on the other side of the block. That would be pretty broken.
More please, I think I've learned more watching this series over the past half an hour than I have in all my hours poured into on again off again redstone projects for the past several years. ilysm
Great video. 👍👏 The only missing think is to get back to the original question about lamps at the end of the video. I had to watch the beginning again to understand the original contraption. You could have said at the end "... and this is why the left lamp is off". 🙂
i think wool is used because its an old multicolour block thats reasonably easy to farm in survival too; if concrete were added before wool we'd probably all be using concrete instead
Absolutely loving your videos! If I may make a suggestion, can you make a video on vertical redstone? You briefly touched on it here but I’ve always been confused about it, especially once transparent blocks get added. Thanks!
6:04 you do a chad move timing it correctly to change the block without breaking the thing attached to it press both right and left click at the same time it'll replace the block in a weird way useful if is a lone block on the air
It’s cool how you used quasi connectivity at the end there😉
👀
It would be really cool if you made a "What the heck is quasi connectivity". Very high quality videos btw, you're extremely underrated.
There's no quazi it's just the redstone cable behind it
@jazziiRed it's the redstone cable behind it, there isn't quasi I don't think
Huh? This is seriously a really high-quality production video. Why am I not seeing a "k" next to your sub count is beyond me x3
Thanks for the kind words! I'm just starting out, so hopefully someday soon.
@@jazziiRed i come from the future congrats on the almost 5k lol
Well, there's a k now! :)
@Juniper the Folf *"m"
@@cdyounger88 i come from the barely future hes on 10k

every redstoner: imma use dust
good redstoners try to reduce dust usage
The lower piston works because of quasi connectivity (which is the result of how doors work being two blocks or so I hear.)
Ding ding ding! Correct
Dude that's awesome, it's one if not the best redstone lesson I've ever had! Your way to explain things is amazing!
Wow, thanks!
I always knew that mechanic, but never thought of it in terms of weak and strong. With neat labels, I can feel my IQ raising expoenetially!
I’ve always referred to it as “hard” and “soft” powering, or just Ъ and Ь for short.
lmao
(Ъ and Ь are the “hard sign” and “soft sign” in the Russian alphabet)
@@ValkyRiver yes i know
I really liked the explanation and the general quality of the video. I hope your channel grows! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I will :)

2:37 that one made me laugh histerically.
And yes, Im commenting a bunch to buff the algorythm.

this was actually super helpful. now I have a better understanding of Redstone
Glad I could help :)
That’s crazy, I always comprehended this but never thought about it
These videos are very informative. The challenge now is figuring out what is also relevant to bedrock edition.
it's quasi connectivity and i learned way too much stuff about redstone just from these kinds of videos keep it up
Well done my guy, I really enjoyed the content and the humor
Great video. 👍👏

9:09 Please a Video on Butt powering (or quasi connectivity to be fancy). I know it happens but I really would love a deep dive on it.
Definitely gonna be coming! (Also it's Bud powering, but butt powering is pretty funny)
Yes, I call it that way because its funnier LOL
Wool for redstoners is like chalk for mathematicians.
Wow, that is so true lol. Never thought about it like that.
i think wool is used because its an old multicolour block thats reasonably easy to farm in survival too; if concrete were added before wool we'd probably all be using concrete instead
I loved this video! Very educational
Good info. I feel like Minecraft has that same feel as an old MS-DOS game called Incredible Machines.
9:08 Quasi connectivily. I watched your video about it right before this one.
again, very good video with clear explanations and all ya know
Thanks!
You're quickly becoming my favorite redstone channel.
I'm honored 🙏

Good idea, I'll add that to the list :)
Great channel
Excellent videos 🏆

Is there a way to learn this power?
Not from a blue block.
This is the rule in my head.
Strong Powered Blocks are Blocks that acts Redstone Blocks that only Redstone Dusts can detect on the X and Z axis.
I’d love a “What the HECK” playlist to make it easier to share with non-redstone savvy friends!
i always just thought of it as „dust powered blocks cant power dust“
man i love QC power
Huh, I didn't know that trapped chest powers not only itself, but also block underneath.
Is the piston at the end of the video being power by quasi connectivity?
Yes indeed it is :)
It has probably something to do with QC! Keep going on, your making great content 🤘
Correct!
9:07
Its because its being bud-powered, also known as quazzy connectivity.
Correct! (It's bud powered tho, but I understood you)
we usually call it hard and soft powered
ez sub great video
Thanks!
The piston was getting bud powered, right?
That piston is being powered due to quasi connectivity, right?
Yes :)
also known as hard and soft powering for those wondering
I am so sorry if you understand this…
STRONG power
5:30
Me using for the past 10 something years hard and soft 💀
"comment if you know" m8 I'm sure everyone who has ever touched redstone on java edition knows quasi-connectivity, dw
That is certainly not true. QC is common knowledge within redstone circles, but those who are learning tend to not know about it.
power is power and java redstone is fkn wierd
