I will be visiting the south island during winter, and am new to driving in the snow.
May i know whether you used snow chains in the drive shown in your video? and how do we gauge when to use snow chains?

@@Mlnz00 You need to get 4wd car with a wheel chain reserved. It can be snowing anytime and sometime it block the raad like mine this time slow my plan 1 day to mt cook because heavey snow. But don't think too much check the weather and road condition before you go. Enjoy your trip 👌

Beautiful backdrop in the winter. Skiing, snowboarding, cold rivers and lakes etc..may seem like your on top of the world. Not really 🤔. When in NZ you're always at the bottom enjoying it all.

Great video. You didn't "timelapse" the road trips which will save a lot of viewers from feeling roadsick. New Zealand is a very beautiful country.
