It's really nice to see Al getting a build for himself finally. You guys do so much good work for everyone else and its great to see you finally taking a moment to do something for yourself. This is gonna be a project you appreciate for years to come and i'm glad you were able to kit it all out the way you have always wanted. You deserve a nice ride for yourself after all the hard work you do. Well done.
Instead of mucking about changing that guard with the hole in it, just fab up another "snorkel" to hide it. Would look tough as like the rest of the rig. Also in before all the 4wd fanboys come in and shit on the Supercheap Auto accessories like they haven't all done label deletes with nail polish remover on their 4wd Supacenter shit. Love this build boys, it's the only Patrol I've ever been jealous of. 👌

I'll always have a soft place in my heart for Marty's Super Gramps....its my favorite build of all the awesome Australian TH-camr's. Thanks for all the killer content you "mates" put out!
" ... cut his hand off, or something." Holy shit, stop with the downplaying, please. 😂 I have rarely seen Alan so pleased with a project. Well done. Something for just you.
Another great series! I love the dynamic between Woody and Al and I could listent to Al explain stuff for hours. The way he presents everything, even boring technical stuff, is so perfect.
That is the Cummins Rumble..that Your hearing. Thats how You know someone has a Cummins..It turned out Badassed...Great job Guys...Great Video and Thanks for sharing
So are we going to see Al and Woody branching out into the 4x4 touring videos ,just the two lads getting back to nature exploring our great country ,and having their own brokeback mountain moments in the wilderness ,wait and see.
Re: Its finished... sort of Absloutly amazing. My 2004 GU 3lt grenade has cracked the head twice in 2 years. I've been working on a enigine conversion in the trol, Its a NA SY Barra. I'm 3 months into the build and about 2weeks from its first start. Your comment about the last 10% is the most time consuming.. So right. My bell housing is from Dellows conversions, engine mounts and alternator, power steering barckets from Manning Valley off road. ECU tampering provided with a HP Tuners MPVI-2, transmission controller is a COMPUSHIFT Sport. Noticed you went with the same controller. I was so hoping you spent some time talking about that. Fantastic content that you guys provide, I'll continue to watch no doubt.
Where did you get the torque converter for the RE4 and Dellow Bell? We are using one in a project and couldn't find a supplier for the converter who had already done one.
4WD is not really my thing, but doesn't hurt to learn something new. By the smiles on Al's face it must be a rippa! Keep up the good work and looking forward to the next project. Thanks Matt
Brilliant boys!! Get it running and sort the rest out later!!! Rear bar looks mint!!! Well played. A couple years back I ran into the patrol with the atlas and duramax in the flinders ranges in south Australia. Was 👌
Ahhhh 6bt goodness. I live aboot an hour from where you picked up that engine, and that sound is just about everywhere. Especially if you work in a trade.
Such an amazing build, I wish my patrol looked like this. One mod you want to do (after road tripping for a while) is fit a gas strut to keep the barn door open. When reaching in the car on a slope the barn door always closes on you and bumps in to your back...
Wait until you tow.. You'll forget anything is being pulled until it comes time to brake. Well done! It's an awesome project. The engine will outlast the Patrol.
I honestly find the cummins noise quite pleasant ! Of course it's clattering, it's a diesel, but it doesn't sound rattly ! It's regular and strong, it sounds healthy !
Awesome build guys !! Probably could have gotten away with a 4bt for a little less weight in the front end and room to work , but I know you usually always chose the heeps of power.. which I'm sure there's loads more in there if you so choose to turn her up. Wicked content ! just can't get enough of it... keep it coming guys.
This thing is fricken epic! Bulletproof engine in a bulletproof chassis! Nissan should think of using Cummins......oh wait 🤣🤣🤣🤣Awesome job on the bucket list build, Alan. I love the thing.
Such an epic build! Maybe we'll see it on the big australian 4x4 youtube channels like 4x4 24-7? Such a great Patrol I hope it can amount to more subscribers for The Skid Factory!
What's with the Canadian connection lol. Being one its great to see you guys hammering down some good old Molson. Lived in Melbourne for 8 years myself, but left in 2008. Everyone loved when I asked for ketchup. Keep up the great work... Truck looks fantastic!
The most important thing I learned in this episode was to never give the Hoff a massage and expect one in return...
Harsh truth of life.
I think a good final video would be an epic road trip across Australia with some goofy Canadians
Yes and lots of lemon squash
I don’t know rich. Haven’t seen to many trail rigs in that fancy garage of yours. Future episodes maybe??
Can arrange some West Oz stuff if you guys do that!
Yes, come over to west aus.
Be a awesome ep doo it !
Its winning Mates. It's supposed to sound like a garbage truck or farm tractor
Or school bus
Or a road grader..
I wish my old dodge ctd farm truck looked like that
Or a cement mixer
I remember my 24v with a straight pipe, definitely a tractor. Growing up on a farm I didnt even realize how loud they were

Amen. Never wanted a patrol more.
Is skid factory taking orders? 🤣🤣
Fake snorkel for aesthetics is just as bad as deleting the label from stuff...
@@hoasco5599 it worked on the Titanic. Briefly…
Or just make that side exhaust...🤔🤣
Pop rivet a number plate under it.
You can tell Al is happy cause he's not frowning!

It's either that, or he's just relieved to have the damn thing running after seeing it sitting in his yard for so many years.
@@CosRacecar He always has a plan, no matter how obscure it may seem to us mere mortals.
You know you’re doing something right on the channel when someone like me who doesn’t enjoy 4WDing or diesels will watch the whole series.

I am from Gothenburg!
I have a Honda CR-V "4"WD though.. not all that much real 4WD going on in Sweden's second largest city.
two of my cars were built there 97 Volvo V70 and 2002 Volvo XC 70 4x4

We do have 40"+ 4wds in Norway and Iceland tho :D

You need to do some diesel stuff Matt!
First drive: Al's smile! One happy guy and his truck. Well done chaps! Great to see builds (MR2 and Patrol) for you finally!
Two of my favorite TH-camrs completed builds on this week’s episodes. The Skid Factory and Matt’s Off Road Recovery! Nice work!
When you were levelling the spot lights, there was no beep....
Make the noise!
I feel cheated...
Beep-beep-da-beep
I really like that awning. A really solid design. Well worth fitting.
If Molson was spelled Molsen then it would be an anagram of Lemons
X files shit right here!
Yep the powder coating made a massive difference, looks mint 👌
That is the Cummins Rumble..that Your hearing. Thats how You know someone has a Cummins..It turned out Badassed...Great job Guys...Great Video and Thanks for sharing
Kinda satisfying watching all the bolt on parts, change of pace from all the custom fabrication that Al's usually doing, looks awesome guys 😁
How good is that lawn. Shade and a squash. Lovely.
This has been my favourite build so far
Re-watching this build still brings a huge smile to my face.
So are we going to see Al and Woody branching out into the 4x4 touring videos ,just the two lads getting back to nature exploring our great country ,and having their own brokeback mountain moments in the wilderness ,wait and see.
I love it! Plus I dig the line "Tins before Tents"
I wasnt a 4x4 guy but after seeing that patrol something in me came to life :D
ITS SO MIIIIIIINT
I've watched Skid Factory from the start. This has been my favorite build! Keep it up boys
1. That was great hearing Al's american accent!
2. Thanks for putting the spot lights where they will work not on the roof where they blind you.
Only 200k subs? 500 by years end or sooner. Thanks guys from western Canada, we want our cummins back btw
I love how you have kept the 3L badge on the back.
@The Skid Factory Really happy for ya! Turbo Yoda driving he new ride looks as happy as a puppy with 2 peters!
It polished up real nice! And the Cummins sounds just like it should from where I’m sitting.
Hello from Gothenburg!
The Hof has been flexin on you boys with the banter lately. Keeping it industry standard I guess. Better up ya game Al! 🤣
New channel, gentlemen. Al and Woody's Adventures.
The Patrol looks ready to head West and tackle the Gibb River road. Nice work boys.
Nice job gents, the whole project has really come together into something special
Would love some content on what’s involved in regards to getting the engineering plates
That thing is awesome! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride bros!

time to hit those tracks in the glasshouse mountains gents!! bloody awesome build up lads, have thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
I love it! Have never seen a sunshade quite like that! Well done!
The Hoff getting violated by Ethel is now in my head. I'll be sending The Skid Factory my psych bills.
So here for Al and Woody doing their best Leyland brothers impersonation

I was thinking the same. A 4BT would’ve been much less headache on the install.
4bts are like sticking a paint mixer under the hood though.
The first 5 min Al is on fire.
Screen protector in the Haltech display is priceless...
If you'd told me Al would become the more comfortable of the two on camera in the future, I'd have laughed so hard but here we are!
That looks to a proper bit of kit. Enjoy it. Nothing better than building something and taking on the trails.
Great work on the build and a great in-depth video, looks awesome :-)
We call them an Ostrich wing in ZA! Nice episode guys!
Great result boys, i finally got my shirts through, takes a few months to get them to the land of the Pom, they were well worth the wait, Thanks
Gonna have to install a step under that from bumper, the headlights are eye level!
Nice to see Alan so happy. Now we need an epic cross-continent adventure with it.
I'll be doing this conversion, this car is a beast
Al you forgot the UHF and 7 foot high aerial in the essentials pack.
