I just ran across this video because I'm struggling to understand why the phrase "Why is she yelling at us?" translates to "Pourquoi nous crie-t-elle dessus?" on Google. My original attempt to do the translation myself was "Pourquoi est-elle crie à nous?" which is I know is probably not right, but I'm failing to see how dessus works its way into the translation. Is is the expression "at us" equivalent to "above us" in French? If anyone happens to see this comment and is willing to explain it to me, that would be much appreciated.
I just came across the word "cime" for "top" or "summit". In French, would you use "au-dessus de la montagne" or "au-cime de la montagne" to refer to the top of the mountain? Above & below are pretty clear, but "top of" I don't know.
You would say "à la cime de la montagne" (cime is feminine) for "at the top of the mountain". It's a synonym of "sommet" or summit in English. "Au-dessus de la montagne" would be for above, like you say.

I lived in France for 18 months and learned French there. I always had to use hand gestures when I said "dessus" and "dessous."

my technique is just that the "u" sound sounds just higher than the "ou" sound... maybe it's just me but one is clearly higher than the other
