I hate the fact that Momoland is getting all the hate for this. Tbh, no one is the problem. The producers made the song. But they even modified it completely. They added a guitar for the start of the song, a breakdown and a rap part. But they are still copying. Last time I checked, copying includes using everything made from another person completely, without changing anything. Yet, the same thing happened in the Western music industry. You know the song "Pony" By Genuine? One woman (can't think of her name right now) sung the same song, didn't modify anything, yet not one person said anything about it...

I like both bands equally and yes they are very similar. listening to them both is like watching mirror image dancing, the background music and yes the wow parts are at the same beat but there lyrics are not and towards the end it starts to go away from the familiarity until the songs stop it was timed together very nicely. I am glad that neither band has had any issues with it. I hope both bands have many songs ahead of them in the future.... (mind you I have at this point no clue if the bands are still together, If these songs are one hit wonders, or any other tragic things that might or might not have happend to the bands. Even if the composer who the company hired committed plagiarism it does not mean you cannot like the song. The different between using someone's song as a base and plagiarism is paying the proper dues.
It could be the producer was inspired. This is very common in pop music it would be ultimate plagiarizing if the lyrics are the same but in different synonyms or language,notes are the same, etc.
The reason why the "Wow Wow" part is exactly at the same time as BBoom BBoom is because they edited Jane and Taeha's part out of the video. Now stop saying it was a perfect coincidence or something. The only part where the "Wow Wow" part is the same is the first one. at 1:53 Jane is supposed to say "Tteolliji mak tteollyeowa Ije naman saenggak nal geoya Bame jamdo jal mot jal geoya" Followed by Taeha's High Note "Jeomjeom Do, Fall In love", But instead they skip to the chorus. Even if they edited those parts out, the “wow wow” part sounds exactly the same in both songs. Same timing, same melody, same progression... They had to cut some of the song to have it match so one song wouldn’t end too early.

Sampling is recording *small clip(s)* of a song and reusing them in your own song. When you’re sampling a song you must get *explicit permission to sample.* If it were sampling, Momoland’s producers *did not ask for permission,* but they didn’t even sample in the first place. They *recreated* the instruments to be almost exactly the same and copied the melody, which *isn’t sampling.* it’s plagiarism. Serebro even called Momoland out saying it’s plagiarism.
If you think it isn’t plagiarized than give an actual reason why you think so. don’t make excuses and say “it’s sampling” just to defend your faves when you don’t even know what that means.
After hearing this, i can definitely say its plagiarism. But bboom bboom its way better .

The Table Cloth From The EXO Monster MV I don't think it's plagiarism but maybe momolands producer or composer wanted them to have a cute unique type of song that just so happens to have the same cords and melody as MI MI MI but that happens alot where artist by coincidence have the same melody and it sounds similar when you compare them but I don't think it was intentional at all. Yes, most of the blame goes to the Producers who produced Bboom Bboom. BUT I won't say Momoland is completely innocent/in the clear. Momoland did a dance cover of MiMiMi 1 year before Bboom Bboom dropped, so they clearly know both songs sound way too similar. If they didnt speak up towards it to the producers/company, they are just selling themselves out for the fame. (they might have spoken up, but they still stuck with it so... they are gonna have to live with it)
They've also been pretty disrespectful to other artists at award shows by not bowing to other artists (even when being bowed to). This group just seems to be made out of controversy

There's some sort of "fair use" policy in countries like US which allows the use of music sampling to some extent (I don't know how this translates in Russian-Korean music industry, though) but Bboom Bboom doesn't even fall into this category: the similarity in melody and chord progression is too obvious.
It's a shame since this song is a total bop but it may set a bad precedent for the industry, the company, and the artist if the issue is not taken seriously. To put it simply: I love this song but I do think it's plagiarism.
