This may not help your situation as it sounds like you already have a fix, but could you 3d print like a bending mandrel (I think thats the right word), screw it down to a piece of wood and then bend your tube against it? That is the basic idea of what I intend to do with my setup because I am ocd as well.

Not sure if this will help but Recent Video, Alex from Hoppos posted him working on 1962 El Vielo set up and shows that OffSet Connection he made to help with that issue. Worth checking out I think.
