- Many thanks for your responses to our video of, "Thank You, Lord." Here is another video, that features Cynthia Clawson and Brian Mann, that we recorded on the same session. It's a song that I originally recorded for my, "Press On" album in 1983. At that time we had to cut a part of this song, as a time consideration for the album. To my knowledge this is the first time the song has been recorded as I originally wrote it. The lyrics are taken from one of my favorite psalms...Psalm 139. And the song is, "You Are There." db
My daughters voice teacher sang this at her funeral . I know it was God's love song to me . Thank you Dan 💗
Leave it to Ms. Clawson to be able to take this song to a new level. Her caressing of the lyrics and the heart that goes into them is so wonderfully god given. Thank you Ms. Clawson for bringing this song to life and making it mean so much to so many. Thank you Dan Burgess for those beautiful words and your testimony behind them. And Paul Mann, there are no words to express how your fingers find the Spirit of God in all you play.

Gorgeous! I grew up listening to an album called press on as a youth and it made me cry every time I listen to it cuz I felt His presence so close to me. I kept hearing the words from this song and I had to find it so I started singing it and I remembered it was from my favorite record album so I looked it up on TH-cam and I found this so thank you so much for sharing this

I have enjoyed Cynthia's music all the way back to the 70's when I first heard her at Allandale Baptist Church in Austin. Great voice and great choice of songs.

The the first time I heard this lady sang was the song. It Won't Rain Always nd I fell in love with her. She has a most amazing voice and she sings with such expression and feeling.

I had never heard this until a couple days ago. I replay it often and the song is running through my mind throughout my days. My favorite Psalm! Thank you!
My oldest brother just passed away on August 18. This song was on facebook shared by a friend. I listened to it 3 times on the night of his passing and it gave me such comfort to know he was surrounded by God's Love. Thank you for this beautiful song.

Excellent rendition of what very well could be one of the greatest songs ever written. The only other version I ever heard was another magnificent one by Diane Boone of Irving, TX, who sang it in a chapel service one day at Dallas Baptist University in the mid-1980s.
Boone also included this song on a demo cassette tape she made at the time.

Wow, just beautiful! What a lovely hymn. Dan, I hope you understand the magnitude of your ministry. Your songs continue to reach the hearts of many around the world. I am an example of that. Does anyone know where I can find the accompaniment track for this song...You Are There? I had a cassette tape (accompaniment track) years ago from The Ultimate Accompaniment Library by Good Life Productions. Any help would be appreciated.
I would love to find that accompaniment track again as well… I found it in 1984, and used it for several years… but it disappeared in a move… and I’ve never been able to find another one.
Also… I personally knew Winnie Swaim, the pianist on that recording! She even accompanied me when I sang this song with the Sanctuary Choir at Central Assembly of God church, in Springfield MO, in the spring of 1993.
GoodLife Productions was based in Springfield, at American Artists recording studio, both of which are no longer in business.😢
Winnie went home to be with the Lord a number of years ago.

This song is part of the musical Press On, by Dan Burgess.
Both this recording and the printed/recorded version are based on Psalm 139, but this one has fairly different lyrics.
I like this one, but the concept is clearer in musical, I believe.
Regardless, it one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard.
