I crested a hill and spotted a T-72B3. He evidently saw me first and fired, obliterating my transmission, engine, driver, and machine gunner, but my turret was intact. My return shot somehow penetrated his turret ring and scored a kill. I have no idea how tf that happened but to this day it’s one of my proudest gaming moments

7:00 the gunner was already dead, you can see the model was darkened before the shell hit him. My best guess is that the gunner was in the middle of being replaced, and another crew member swapped out just after the hit. Either that, or the guy you hit was in fact the loader
If you ever have time, I highly recommend watching the T-34 russian tank movie. The cinematics and sound design are fantastic but you need to get subtitles, they might be a little off, at least the ones I had were. 12:04 reminded me of the movie scene "Can you shoot on the move?" "I can, it won't pierce but the belly is soft" or something like that.
