Are there still parts available for these engines? The valve looks easy enough to fabricate yourself if need be, but the housing would be a problem I assume?
Great video. I’ve never seen a pump like that, so simple but it looks so well built. I assume there is a screen on the intake somewhere, but does debris get jammed in the pump discs sometimes?
There is a 'mud box' which stains some of the silt, and two grills - one on the outside of the boat, and one in the mudbox to limit the size of stuff getting through - it's rare for something to get blocked in the valves, most just passes through.
Things that are well made ..and made to be fixed not thrown away 👍
I have the same Engine & Pump, but on a skin tank. Good to see the valve assembly, as (touch wood) I've never had to take mine apart.
Used to live not far from polesworth. Had many a field trip down the cut with wood house high school to the priory and the pools

Still some parts available, casting like this would be mostly secondhand but it is getting harder and harder to find parts, and more expensive!
