Both fencers, Juan and Aitor, belongs to AEEA Asociación Española de Esgrima Antigua (www.esgrimaantigua.com) and not to FISAS. but you will find some good fencers in FISAS too; just not Destreza, if that is what you are looking for.

Linear > Circular ; in any case for thrusting. Modern lunging techniques and footwork are more efficient than what you guys are doing IMO.
no, they are more efficient for suicide or sport fencing where you dont fear the others blade.
Alrold modern foot work and lunging techniques also wouldn't work on rough or wet terrain, even for scoring points without care for life ...

Spanish fencing doesn't teach the lunge, as Itailian fencing does. They emphasize blade control, and circular footwork, over linear lunging.
