I absolutely adored Fluff. His Saturday Rock Show was legendary too. Alright? Right? Not 'arf!

+gwylfa Wales Well you certainly met my radio hero ! Do you know of any recordings of the afternoon show that are available ? There seem to be almost none about ! I used to listen every day May 72 - May 73

+Peter Woods The weekday show was and remains, my favourite radio show. It was unique then and today, Peter. Fluff was just the same on air as off...plus rather more expletives!! He chain smoked which gave his voice that unique sound! I have some poor quality recordings of snippits of some of the shows ....hard to find any anywhere now...and goodness knows I have tried! Plenty of the rock show( which I also visited).

does anyone know the name of the jingle in the Alan Freeman Show on Radio One called "Poet's Corner" back in 1972. It's an instrumental one and think it was by Black Sabbath. But it was NOT "Fluff". It was played on a 12-string acoustic guitar, and it was beautiful. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Fluff was brilliant and a much beloved legend. But he made a little error with the Hollies introduction. Eric Haydock the band in mid 1966, replaced by Bernie Calvert.

Probably recreated for the 30th anniversary of the launch of Radio 1. But, somehow, Fluff seems a little stilted.....

By this time I gather Fluff was quite ill. I was told he was living in Brinsworth House at this point because he was crippled by rheumatoid arthritis and used to be transported by ambulance each week to Broadcasting House to do his show. A bit different from today when he could have done it from his room. Bless him.
