Watching the making of videos for dinosauria got me into animation and now I'm learning how to 3d model and doing sound design and 2d animation. I love these videos so much
Sauria, Dinosauria, Autodale; whatever series you work on next, or even a one shot like Locked Doors, it will all be fantastic. What sets your work apart from other animators is that, somehow, all of your effort is clear on the screen in a way that most don't show. Every day of writing, sculpting, rigging, designing, editing and such comes through in every short film you make. I don't mean to belittle other animators, but somehow the effort you put into these videos just comes through in a way no one else is able to convey, and that adds to the beauty of each short. Hey David! You should write a book called "Sauria" that way you can tell your story without the insane workload of the video format. That way you can tell full stories about your characters as well.
I love this niche genre of fantasy/horror, of prehistoric cultures or creatures using magic or other fantasy tropes. It gives me major Primal vibes, especially the witch coven and zombie plague episodes.
Honestly, I don't mind if you take a break from the Sauria series. You work SO hard, and it's worth it every time, but I also remember the absolute miserable burnout you were suffering, when you were working on Autodale. I love all your work, and you shouldn't feel pressured to only work on one thing. So be it another project or taking a break, I'm definitely gonna support you in that regard.
Please continue this series whenever the time presents itself. The 4th instalment you were planning to make already has us hooked. Sauria is amazing and deserves more recognition. Should Sauria return, we will welcome it with open arms.
AHHHHH THAT TEASER AT THE END WAS SO HYPE Dude thank you for all the dinosaur related work you put out it is by far the most unique and intriguing and high quality at oh my god I love it so much
Feel free to make what you want. I know some people have been begging for more Sauria, and it is by far my favorite of your work, but don’t run yourself into the ground for our own entertainment. Make what YOU want too.
Burn out is the worst fate for any creative works. What you have made for your viewers is a product of incredible quality. Should you return to finish Sauria or not, regardless it was an amazing animated series. Preciate it.
Obviously, sad to hear that the other three aren’t in the works, but I’m very glad that you’re listening to yourself. Make the stuff that you want to make and your audience will find you. We already have by the looks of it. Don’t just make stuff for our sake, make it because you want to. At the very least, we’ll get a better end product out of it.
I’m slowly trying to figure that out for my homebrew DnD table. The motivation plus unknowns kinda hinder that.. ngl Plus being a… new dm/gm, kinda intimidating 😅
I can't even begin to explain how incredibly excited I am to know Dinosauria is coming back. I love that series and the Sauria one too. No matter how far in the future new episodes of either are, I will be beyond happy to watch them.
I truly love this world you've made. The combination of classic sword and sorcery with your unique "stone-punk" setting as you put it, is just brilliant. You've managed something that the greatest fantasy writers have, and that's to make a world that feels larger than the scope of the story, without losing focus on the story itself. I've consistently enjoyed your animation style- and as a specific point for this video, I personally was not bothered by the use of pre-made graphics in the background. If anything, I found it made it feel more like a traditional 2D animation. Shortcuts aren't inherently a bad thing. When they still result in a good quality, that's no longer a cheat, it's just efficiency. Lastly, I can't wait to see more whenever you are ready to return to Sauria, and I am very excited for a return to Dinosauria.
The only thing I think I love on par with the actual videos you make are always the behind-the-scenes work where you detail your creative process and the steps you took to both conceptualize and build the masterpieces you show to the rest of the world! It's such a privilege to see the glimpses of the effort you put in for your pieces, and I am so glad and grateful you take the time to walk us through the work and love you put into it all. It makes every venture you go on something so worthwhile and magical. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
take a break! from all these amazing animations and even complimentary behind the scenes, you deserve a rest. we, your eager fans, will wait patiently for whatever masterpiece you decide to set your heart on next. As someone who has loved dinosaurs since 4th grade, I love seeing someone create a universe like this. Even if it is left off on a cliffhanger, that just allow peoples creative minds to explore the possibilities. And, congrats on one million subs. you really do deserve it.
I do hope Sauria comes back in some form or another, its such a meaty world with so much potential for storytelling. But I can understand the associated burnout after years of working on a project. I'm excited to hear there's a second volume of Dinosauria coming out, though! Thank you so much for sharing your worlds and stories with us. It's truly impressive the work you've put into each and every one of your films.
been a casual fan for years and i’ve always loved the sketchbooks they inspire me so much, so glad you keep doing what u do and other people appreciate your work aswell
A film company needs to sign you up as a director, you do amazing work and the mixing of 3d and 2d is something I haven't seen since Guilty Gear took their shot at it. Sauria is a wonderful series that I've been looking for, and I will gladly wait until the end of time to see the next installment
I don't care if it's sauria, or just dinosaurs, or maybe something completely different. Your work is amazing and i will watch anything you put out, take the time you need.
I was randomly recommended the Rise of the Decayed on TH-cam yesterday and I can say I am thankful the algorithm finally gave me a masterpiece. This is some of the best and most intriguing animation/story/world I have ever seen. I would love to see more of this if possible.
I love these making of videos, not only are they provide a deep dive into how these amazing shorts are made, they provide a massive load of inspiration. Well done David!
I absolutely adore your sketchbook, it's so clean and well made. The genuineness of your passion comes through when you speak and it makes all these BTS videos so fun to listen to
I don’t care how much time you need. Take all the time you want! Even if it takes years to finish your next project, don’t overwork yourself and don’t rush it. I will wait regardless! In my opinion you are truly one of, if not the most talented TH-cam animator I have ever seen and I’m sure manny people can agree on what as well.
So far, Rising of the Decayed is my favorite of the 3 Sauria because of the horror & lore behind it which I cannot wait to see. Please take ypur time if you do plan to continue doing Sauria 4-6. Dinosauria is also awesome and I am excited to see the simple yet fascinating daily lives of dinosaurs in Vol.2.
9:20 the concept of mortals becoming half God through worshipping cosmic deities is so unique and new yet fits so well into the general notion of Lovecraftian gods that I'm surprised I've never seen it before
Cthulhutops lives on! Seriously, though, this series is absolutely awesome. It's actually really inspiring how much you've put into these videos, especially the lore. The story itself is perfect, and the horror served this episode perfectly. (Also can't wait for Dinosauria 2.0, it's probably one of the best dinosaur series available on the internet)
10:19 In a way, the transcended one reminds me a lot of the mayor from the Autodale series. probably once being a noble being turned into a half decayed monster.
Sauria has been amazing and while I'd love for more Sauria content especially the Pachy story, I am HYPE for Dinosauria Vol.2! Btw your Voice Acting is really good even with the voices sounding similar you give each character a very unique performance that separates em!!! As a VA I think that's awesome!

As a viewer I'd love to see more Sauria, but as an artist I definitely understand how much work that would be for you. You definitely shouldn't push yourself on that and although it ended on a cliffhanger you already made something great.
I wish someone would give you a team and a series deal already. You're always so creative, and your work is always so inspiring to me. Autodale was especially, and now Sauria is more so.
I will admit, the heavy exposition in the film kind of threw me off when I watched it, but I still deeply appreciate the time and energy David puts into these films. I am greatly inspired by his work and I can’t wait to see his future films. Thank you, David!
This is so beautiful i cannot explain when i watched ot for the first time i was so mesmorised watching it so immersive i am also working on a fictional world and this man as inspired me a lot with his beautiful work
The characters sounding all the same is kinda real but funny. David you are a VERY skilled artist!! I hope you don't overwork yourself to make these masterpieces because THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL. VERY EXCITED FOR THE RETURN OF DINOSAURIA
19:57 - AWWWWW da babies! Also thank you for making this series (Sauria series & Dinosauria series) Really excited to see the next Dinosauria series volume 2!
I can't describe what a joy all of Mr. Armsby's work is for me. He creates better stories and universes than multi-billion-dollar studios. The Sauria series is absolutely captivating. I eagerly await all future works by him.
I'm sad that Sauria has ended (at least Volume 1), because of the intricate story you've woven into each short film. But, I'm so happy that Dinosauria Volume 2 is coming! I love both of these series, because of how much effort you out into the visuals & storytelling. You make a story about non-speaking dinosaurs so interesting! I can't wait to see Terrible Lizards!
I'm still in awe how complex and detailed you work is :o And those sketchbooks are just beautiful 😍 The peasant warriors are my personal favourite design. The look so full of determination :D
As sad as I am to see Sauria end (for now?), I more so appreciate that you need time to recuperate and reassess what you'll enjoy working on. The amazing quality speaks for itself, in both your process and final product. I'm glad to see that Dinosauria will be making a return, and I'll gladly wait for it as long as I have to.
Honestly, the 2D trees presets are such a good idea and I can tell you that you are the only one that knows about it, it's not something the viewer is going to notice since our visual focus is on characters. It's not ''cutting corners'', it's a smart way to not burn yourself out ! You should keep doing that 💯
It’s kinda funny the more I learn about art, animation and story telling the more massive a gap I see between me and the masters like you. Thank you for the inspiration, because I might not be as good as you (or ever be) but it’s cool to think that there are people who are so beyond my skill it’s incompressible, and that to me is magical.
We hope you enjoy making what you love, and keep enjoying it, and I hope nobody tries to force you. Just make what you want to and what you love and we'll support you.
This film was instantly my favorite in the whole series so far. I was absolutely riveted from the first frame. I feel like you can really see your personal, artistic voice Here. As soon as I watched it I was so excited to see the "making of" video. I absolutely love the world you've created.
I always love these behind the scenes videos, I have loved seeing all the sauria stuff and I am so excited to see any future dinosauria stuff. Your stuff is always such a treat to watch and I cannot wait to see more. take all the time you need
Sauria was an INSANE project to take on and I loved every second of it, but even just looking at the finished product, I could only imagine how much hard work went into them. I'm excited to see Dinosauria return and honestly just glad to know you might have an easier time working. Amazing work as always!
I greatly enjoyed every video to do with the Sauria mythos and while its a bit sad to hear it'll be ages if you pick it up again if ever. I can entirely understand and personally; Thank you for creating such an interesting and fun world for us to enjoy. Despite the somewhat disheartening news on Sauria itself; nothing could make more more excited than the announcement of a Dinosauria Season 2. Thats just brilliant! Again and I mean this honestly; Thank you for the effort you've put into your animations and worlds. You should be incredibly proud.
Please, for the love of Gods, don’t let Sauria die!! The world of Sauria is such a rich, dynamic and fascinating thing, I can’t help but want more! Even if I have to wait for the next decade, I simply MUST see the rest of these films through!
Love this series and fantastic to see how it all comes together. I didn't even notice the whole copy-paste tree technique but I doubt many people did, too engrossed in the characters and story, not to say the environments aren't also gorgeous though 😃
Man, you've been such a huge inspiration ever since dinosauria. As a dinosaur enthusiast, movie enjoyer and appreciator, and most important of all, as an animation student Your work really motivates me to keep on and to make stories, to create and to express myself through the mediums I can such as art, to be motivated by the things I love and enjoy Keep on the Good work David, you're doing amazingly, we can wait for the other Sauria episodes, really excited for Dinosauria volume 2!!!
Here's an idea for you, when you're done with the utter awesomeness that is Sauria maybe you could do an animated series focusing on the works of Lovecraft, like The Call of Cthulhu, The Dunwich Horror, The Shadow over Innsmouth, At the Mountains of Madness and so on. Just something to consider since you a fan of the mythos.
That reveal at the end! Cannot wait!!! And yeah, I would absolutely love to see a second trilogy for Sauria, but I don’t want you to get burned out even more. Keep making what you want to make- we’ll be watching!
David please take care of yourself. Your work is amazing and I look forward to each of your films. They are amazing, especially for as much as you do it yourself. I would love to see more of this world you are building. You hooked me with Autodale and it feels like such a whole story. So far this seems like just an introduction to an amazing universe that I want more of. If that means we have to wait longer, then I'll gladly watch whatever else you feel the need to work on to gather yourself. And if more Sauria doesn't happen, then please know you should be proud of what you did accomplish with it.
I am over the moon to hear we're getting more of Dinosauria! All that hard work you've put into Sauria really shows, mate. It is absolutely amazing. The quality is superior to most things big studios have released in the last few years! The Fell reminded me a bit of the ancient Valyrians, as well as the skinchangers from ASOIAF (because it is something I'm very familiar with), how they see through the eyes of their animals, and how they're fallen versions of a former powerful people, like how the (non-Targaryen) survivors of Valyria are twisted and malformed. I imagine if there are some remnants of the Fell former selves still lingering somewhere in the world...
I will say this, the world of Sauria is one of the most incredible worlds that blends prehistoric life with fantasy. Each film has demonstrated the war, the wildlife, and the witchcraft of the world of sauria. If you feel that the work load is too much to animate, that is completely understand (especially if it almost took 3 years for 3 episodes). But please do not stop expanding this world. Even writing the lore, history, clans, and creatures in the books you have displayed during these more in-depth videos has shown us just as (or even more) of the world of Sauria. This comment is already getting to long so I'll just get to the point: Whether you decide to continue Sauria in the future or not, thank you very much for make such a wonder and incredible world. And I truly look forward to seeing where we go next.
Personally, I’m absolutely loving this series of films. They’re super well done, and the world being crafted as we go through each episode is wonderful and unique.
I don't want this beautiful series to end. But if it takes you 2 , 5 years to make its okay to take a breather, at least you claim it's not over and it will continue and that's okay, I am happy to end with a classic ? I hope to see this again I was speculative of the Dinosuria series vol. 1 and I was like volume 1 maybe there 's gonna be a volume 2 and whoe and behold. My excitement levels. I love you david
I just noticed that the Blue song chancellor has golden eyes - the exact same color as the creatures possessed by the Fell's "god". Coincidence? Or something more?
I love being a fan of David's stuff, its so cool to have my socks blown off with an amazing short, then have the creator sit down with a detailed explanation of their process
I'm saddened that there won't be an ynew Sauria films maybe ever. But I understand how exhausting that must be and I'm glad you are mindful of the energy you have. Nobody wants to burn such a great artist out. Thank you for your work.

AHHHHH THAT TEASER AT THE END WAS SO HYPE
Dude thank you for all the dinosaur related work you put out it is by far the most unique and intriguing and high quality at oh my god I love it so much
Feel free to make what you want. I know some people have been begging for more Sauria, and it is by far my favorite of your work, but don’t run yourself into the ground for our own entertainment. Make what YOU want too.
i literally shrieked when i saw "dinosauria vol. 2" pop up, they're my favorite series of films EVER, im so excited!!!
This needs more! More Sauria stories need to be told. I could see this concept being great as a setting for a D&D style game.
A open world or strategic game would be awesome too
@@Smdvjgv exactly! I could even see it making a great tabletop game like the Warhammer series.
Ama,ing for a table top RPG or warfare setting.
This would easily be my favourite setting for a tabletop rpg
I’m slowly trying to figure that out for my homebrew DnD table.
The motivation plus unknowns kinda hinder that.. ngl
Plus being a… new dm/gm, kinda intimidating 😅
You have gotten so good at facial expressions, it's genuinely impressive.
I was randomly recommended the Rise of the Decayed on TH-cam yesterday and I can say I am thankful the algorithm finally gave me a masterpiece. This is some of the best and most intriguing animation/story/world I have ever seen. I would love to see more of this if possible.
I love your art ever since the autodale series and you continue to be a big inspiration. Your art and the worlds you create are amazing.
In my opinion you are truly one of, if not the most talented TH-cam animator I have ever seen and I’m sure manny people can agree on what as well.
the transcended one has got to be one of the most badass designs i've ever seen. excellent stuff. you really are incredible!
Every day is a good day when Dead Sound uploads
9:20 the concept of mortals becoming half God through worshipping cosmic deities is so unique and new yet fits so well into the general notion of Lovecraftian gods that I'm surprised I've never seen it before
Thank you for always showing your creativity and your process. I absolutely love these videos!
Finally. What an amazing short film!
It reminds me of the Superme Evil from Dinosaurs Attack
Sauria has been amazing and while I'd love for more Sauria content especially the Pachy story, I am HYPE for Dinosauria Vol.2!
Btw your Voice Acting is really good even with the voices sounding similar you give each character a very unique performance that separates em!!!
As a VA I think that's awesome!
I love these videos, they'er so inspirational! Sauria is by FAR One Of My Favourite Series You've Done! It's Amazing And Immersive!
When That Giant Creature Emerged I Was In Awe At Its Might And Detail! Amazing Work Deadsound!
And apparently, that's one of the small ones, not a god but a demigod...
@@bradleyadams5252 The Fact It's One Of The Small Ones Makes It Even More Terrifying...
I Wonder How Big Those Demigod Creatures Can Get!
It Was So Creepy Yet Amazing!
One of the best animated stories I have ever had the pleasure of watching,
As a viewer I'd love to see more Sauria, but as an artist I definitely understand how much work that would be for you. You definitely shouldn't push yourself on that and although it ended on a cliffhanger you already made something great.
This is by far the most satisfying series I have watched, thank you David so much for bringing passions.
I think it’s cool there was an abrupt ending, we’re left guessing what happened after all that.
Well in my own opinion at least
@@Alibithesirencat Maybe it won’t be as strange on rewatch, but I’m just saying that that was how I felt on my first viewing.
@@storiesimprovelives775 fair
After all the work that went into this, feel free to take a break, man! You earned it.
I have to say this is probably the best Sauria story so far. Dinosaurs and Cosmic horror is like peanut butter and chocolate. Perfect mix!
I'm so hyped for this! You and Ivan keep outdoing yourselves. It's always a joy when i see you've posted!
I pray that your career as an artist is long and fruitful. This is such visionary work, and you clearly put so much into it.
I always look forward to these “Making Of…” videos. They give me a greater appreciation of the work put in
I always love these behind the scenes videos, I have loved seeing all the sauria stuff and I am so excited to see any future dinosauria stuff.
The teaser clip at the end just put a big smile on my face :)
I eagerly await its return, but until then... Dinosauria is also something to be very much anticipated.
Love this series and fantastic to see how it all comes together.
I didn't even notice the whole copy-paste tree technique but I doubt many people did, too engrossed in the characters and story, not to say the environments aren't also gorgeous though 😃
I love the effort you go to to make these journals with stylized tiered borders and titles that scan so well on screen.
Man, you've been such a huge inspiration ever since dinosauria. As a dinosaur enthusiast, movie enjoyer and appreciator, and most important of all, as an animation student
Your work really motivates me to keep on and to make stories, to create and to express myself through the mediums I can such as art, to be motivated by the things I love and enjoy
Keep on the Good work David, you're doing amazingly, we can wait for the other Sauria episodes, really excited for Dinosauria volume 2!!!
Oh my God Dinosauria is coming back and with Megalosaurus getting an episode!!! I'm pumped
Hooray I have been so excited for this!
I love everything about this channle, the battles, the lore, the details not just the sauria world but the other videos love it man
this is amzing buddy and i see we be getting vol 2 of dinosauria, nice spinosaurus buddy
I legit cannot wait for more. I am utterly obsessed with the world of Sauria
16:35 We need more Sauria. It needs to be the next Autodale
You did amazing job as always, sir!
I really want to see sea dinosaurs someday
I will say this, the world of Sauria is one of the most incredible worlds that blends prehistoric life with fantasy. Each film has demonstrated the war, the wildlife, and the witchcraft of the world of sauria.
If you feel that the work load is too much to animate, that is completely understand (especially if it almost took 3 years for 3 episodes).
But please do not stop expanding this world. Even writing the lore, history, clans, and creatures in the books you have displayed during these more in-depth videos has shown us just as (or even more) of the world of Sauria.
This comment is already getting to long so I'll just get to the point:
Whether you decide to continue Sauria in the future or not, thank you very much for make such a wonder and incredible world. And I truly look forward to seeing where we go next.
Personally, I’m absolutely loving this series of films. They’re super well done, and the world being crafted as we go through each episode is wonderful and unique.
I can't wait for your next Sauria episode.
I’m pretty sure this is the last episode..
Of course, from what I’ve heard, there’d be around 3 episodes.
Oh. I get it.
@@SnubbyDaArtist He said in the video that he *might* make 4th episode at 8:15
I hope that this will be the case
@@Dromaeosaursi hope so i wanna see more of the pachycephalosaur saurians
I don't want this beautiful series to end. But if it takes you 2 , 5 years to make its okay to take a breather, at least you claim it's not over and it will continue and that's okay, I am happy to end with a classic ? I hope to see this again
I was speculative of the Dinosuria series vol.
You have no ideia how much i've been waiting this
I'm saddened that there won't be an ynew Sauria films maybe ever. But I understand how exhausting that must be and I'm glad you are mindful of the energy you have. Nobody wants to burn such a great artist out. Thank you for your work.
Transcendent one looks inspired by the ultimasaur from the cancelled JP chaos theory series
