And he and punk put on a clinic of what true wrestling, and true respect, really is in this business. I hope a lot of the younger talent was in the back taking notes.

Man, I remember watching the In Your House PPV with my dad when I was 7 in '95 when Dustin was debuting as Goldie. Here I am 35 years old STILL enjoying watching Dustin wrestle. Amazing. Guy is always putting on a story.
Ain’t that far ahead in age, but remember seeing “The Natural” back when he had that theme back in 92-93 as an 8 year old & like you seeing him wrestle now at 38 years old and to still pull off matches like this is truly awesome
I imagine these 2 had wrestling scrimmages together back in the E and now but man what chemistry from men who never had a wrestling match together on tv, what a treat for us fans to witness. Man Dustin is indeed the natural, his moves are near flawless and his psychology selling his left knee/hamstring is chef's kiss.
I’m 42 (a good few years younger than Dustin) and like a lot of folk I’ve gone to work n done a few years martial arts. These days, between broken bones, a bad back and neck, detached retinas, yadda yadda... I know that half an hours above moderate training will leave me hurting 24/7 for a week or more! I respect what these guys do for my entertainment... and you can stick your “it’s fake tho” up your arse y’prick!

Best match of the night, THIS was an actual pro wrestling match, and not a spot fest with 50 dives per minute and 100 false finishes. AEW needs more matches like this
This is a beautifull slow burn wrestling. I always like fast pace high flying, but i remembered, i'm on the edge of my seat watched this match. Like an art film forreal.
These guys have NO business still being this freaking good man. started watching only to realized there was still almost 9 minutes left in the match. most of these kids cant even go 9. jesus... I think Dustin will still go down as one of the most underrated guys ever.

Man Punk's selling has been on point since coming back. And judging by the color of his gear and post-Revolution interview you can really tell he's trying to make Bret Hart proud

Dustin Rhodes was my last "hero" in wrestling when I was still a kid. I remember liking Dusty, and then seeing Dustin starting out. I missed most of the Golddust spectacle, but I don't think I would have liked him any less. I loved this match. This was exactly what I needed to see, and it honestly brought tears to my eyes.
Goldust was the reason I fell in love with Dustin. The man was committed to that 1000% And he can wreastle his ass off. I'm so happy he is getting the recognition he deserves in AEW.
Been watching wrestling since the 80s and this was a great blend of that old school in ring storytelling and todays dynamic moves. The way the ending was sold by having Dustin not being able to kick out due to the damage to his knee was smart

Dustin is seriously heavily underrated he's hands down one of the best workers I've ever watched. Everytime I watch his matches he performs every move so smoothly.
For those who've never tried it. An actual figure four hurts like an MF. It can snap a knee like a twig if you aren’t careful. JR called the reversal an Indian deathlock. In real grappling it would be closer to a calf slicer. They also hurt like an MF and can be dangerous, which is why they're illegal in a lot of combat sports. The point is wrestlers should sell both these moves like they're having hot lava poured on their legs.
It can't snap a knee like a twig and IRL would be almost impossible to get locked in on someone who's conscious. Name one combat sport where you could possibly use one and it's illegal. Seriously.

But, if you have the the knee positioned in a lever between someone’s crotch with the shin as the fulcrum point, and a strong leg on the outside providing downward force, you can easily cause permanent damage. It applies the nearly the exact same force as a knee bar. They don’t even risk it in a wrestling ring. They always put the actual fulcrum below the knee. My overall point is, in an age where wrestling fans and mma fans intersect pretty heavily, the pain of these moves is way undersold, and it diminishes them as a result.
I am so happy to see CM Punk back in the ring every time now. And I don't know if I could possibly love and respect Dustin after all these years, seriously incredible how good he is and how he lives up to his name; The Natural. Great match as expected.

Both Dustin Rhodes and CM Punk have got heart for this business. Rhodes can still function and deliver despite his left leg giving out on him. I'm so impressed when Rhodes kept on getting up quick. We call him The Natural for a reason. Hats off to both of these men.

Yes! I love Hanger, but his title run has become stale, not when it comes to in-ring performances, but because he's barely on TV besides defending the title. When he does defend it, it's against people that he doesn't even have a solid storyline with.

Dustin is still so buttery smooth with his moves. He doesn't wrestler every week but when he does it's special. He rarely wins but it's kinda weird that he still looks good when he loses, good booking.

I was there for this match. It was my first live televised match ever. It was cool getting to see two guys I grew up watching.

Both Dustin Rhodes and CM Punk have got heart for this business. Rhodes can still function and deliver despite his left leg giving out on him. I'm so impressed when Rhodes kept on getting up quick. We call him The Natural for a reason. Hats off to both of these men.

Yes! I love Hanger, but his title run has become stale, not when it comes to in-ring performances, but because he's barely on TV besides defending the title. When he does defend it, it's against people that he doesn't even have a solid storyline with.

Dustin really wanted this match, but I think he's dissapointed since he ain't the guy 7 years ago because of his age but he really pulled that off even with this age, but he really put off a good match tho
Dustin is still so buttery smooth with his moves. He doesn't wrestler every week but when he does it's special. He rarely wins but it's kinda weird that he still looks good when he loses, good booking.
