Ty for this. Very thorough and explaining as you go. I just had my Dodge Journey '16 towed to my mechanic. But took a video of what was going on with my vehicle. I knew it was a radiator hose just needed a verification of what I was dealing with. Upper radiator hose that's what I saw, the right side broke off. Just what you showed in your video.
Oh it's 104 now. Bought it 4 yrs ago at 52, miles on it. But I already knew once it reaches 100 that the repairs are going to be starting. Back in May had to replace the serpentine belts. Took a video of that too before it was towed. I'm already shopping around for another vehicle.
@@npal35 Good to know; this one was just over 200,000mi when this happened. Thankfully it's not a terribly expensive fix. Not bad for what was (and maybe still is?) the most affordable 3-row SUV on the market.
@@Kaos31500 Most likely age. The car had just passed 200,000mi and 11 years old at the time. Best to replace it before then to prevent a major inconvenience.

@@npal35 You're welcome, I'm glad you found the video helpful. How many miles does your Journey have on it?

Well I got a question. Do both hoses have to be replaced or just the one that broke?
I picked it up from the mechanic yesterday and I'm looking at it now. The left side still looks old.
thanks for the video on changing the upper radiator hose will be very helpful for me to change out mine on a 2016 dodge journey.
Thank you for the help, god bless you
@@redconan4706 You're very welcome, glad I could be of assistance!
Do you have to flush coolant?
@@SouthsideRONIN The car leaked just about all of its coolant out as a result of the hose breaking. After I replaced it, I just added a fresh jug.
Thanks
Awesome
What part number is that. I saw another video the guy said the gates 24261 was too thick
It's Gates 24261. It will connect, but it's too thick to use the original hose clamps.
I replaced them with MasterPro Hose Clamps ¾"-1¾", MP5520V
Thank you, it worked.
Thanks help! A lot
Why did this happen?

@@spitty3456 Good to know! More durable for more peace of mind.
