Pete has the best clubs in my opinion, mostly because I use MP 68s. Trust me when you put a good swing on them and strike them right in the centre you will weep tears of joy.

You guys should go with really old blades and persimmon woods. Go really old school against each other. Find those old Wilson blades with the leather grips. That would be classic. You would have wear knickers in that video though!
The Yes Tracy ll is a great putter. Superb roll and distance control is phenomenal. I still use that putter today.

I liked this video before I even watched it because I knew it would be epic and you guys did not disappoint. I have that 5 wood shaft still to this day in my 3 wood that pete picked up and I currently use Nike pro combo irons so to see rick sticking with his guns and grab the those...pure! Love the content guys cant wait for the course vlog with them
Pete, I would say I'm embarrassed about this but I'd be lying... The 980F and Tracy 2 are both still in my bag... classics!!

I play the Nike VR Pro Blades still and I must admit, they really are great. I was a high teen handicapper when I picked them up and they drastically improved my golf due to the consistency they require to score. With blades, you know your swing is the only thing creating bad shots. I have since gotten down to near scratch. I LOVE my blades.
Apart from the driver I think Pete has the best bag. Look forward to it boys!
I'm still using a titleist 975f 5 wood with the proforce shaft and a 906f2 3 wood with the proforce v2 shaft. I used to have an old titleist driver with a proforce shaft in it too. love that shaft.
you 2 are very noughty, ive just spent £400 on some new irons cant wait to top them down the fairway. thaks you have inspired me yet again.👍

Pete's bag gets my vote, that 980F was a beast of a club!
Best bag - Pete, though the VR blades are nice they aren't the Mizunos, the newer wedges better short game control, great putter, awesome choice in fairway. My set (trickier, LH) 95 for SLDR, 44 for 910F, 60 for Adams Pro H (thin on choice here and irons), AP1-710 4-pw for 168, White Hot #9 49, SM5 60def 38, and 54deg Spin Mill Vokey 09 for 45 -- total 500 spot on. And it is Pete for the Repete ;-)

Driver wise I have actually been looking at the old Callaway FT-3 - just for the bants - never owned one, but always loved the sound and feeling of it when I tried my mate’s as a junior!

Should be an interesting match, but I'm going for Rick. His game has improved sooo much since last year and Pete has been playing with one length irons wich is a different swing. But it should be awesome, just like last year!

I just decided to start playing golf again after about 15 years. Managed to pick up a set of calaway x14 irons, a big bertha 3 wood, a SLDR driver a load of balls and a bag for £70. Maybe I'll start my own 2nd hand challenge. Keep the great content coming.

Next time it should be more similar to last year with older clubs. Make the rule where it has to be on or before a certain year. Like a last decade challenge (2009 or before).
These videos are great! Hey mark you could have always chosen a Cleveland mashies with the glide rails. But you guys should do a match up with persimmon woods and irons to match the era. That would be a great video.

Super excited for the upcoming rematch. You both picked some awesome clubs (and in great shape too) especially considering the price limit. I'll 100% have to go with Pete's bag based on those sweet mizunos and that titleist wood.
Re: the winner of the match...going on recent form from the vlogs, my brain tells me to back Pete to win the match. BUT I also think Rick's decision to go with familiar clubs was brilliant strategically. When Rick's got the confidence flowing, he can kill it out there (e.g. been driving great lately w/ the fade bias on the epic giving a confidence boost). So, I'll override my brain and go with my gut and say Rick pulls off the comeback win with the MVP of his bag being the Apex 2iron.
Can't wait to see what happens!
Irons - 1- 9 Mizuno TP 9, Wedges Vokey or Hogan, Putter - Anser, Driver - Titleist 915/917, 3 wood - Mizuno TP 13. All X-stiff shafts, old school... no utility clubs in sight or gap wedges.

I would like to see a Thrift Store club challenge....These clubs are still top end and relatively new....
I have to give Pete the edge for the irons. I need to deduct points from Rick though for getting the 2 iron! That's in his bag now. It reeks of desperation really 😜To me the spirit of the challenge is find clubs from the past that you aren't gaming. I thought Ricks choice of the Ping irons last year was inspired.

Ya know, there's a way to deal with the "weak lofts" on the classic Ping irons... hit one more club. Those numbers and letters on the bottom of the club don't mean anything. It's actually an advantage to have more full swing choices inside 150 yards. It's also good if your opponent likes to sneak a look in your bag to see what you're hitting. You can hit your 8 iron pin high then watch him airmail the green!
