  • Here's another installment from Authentic Shaolin Kung Fu!! Shifu Gregg shows the practical application of the tai chi chuan style and explains the realities of applying fajing (explosive energy) into the movements and strikes of the style. His gives an understanding of chi as it is applied to combat, and dispels the myth of projecting magical energy to manipulate an opponent.

Thank you for promoting us learning to properly do taiji moves. Until we understand the roots, history, and purpose of the moves, it is a line dance. Showing how hip turns are fundimental to developing a tremendous amount of force, is great! I feel like serious martial arts students should benifit greatly if they would start with a year of taiji chuan taught with it's martial principles. For example I am convinced that board-breaking in Tai Kwondo is so much easier with good foot placment, motion, center of gravity, and coordination between the feet, legs, hips then core- as the body is a whip.

Enjoyed the video. Nice that you show a little qin na in the application. Chen style? The Yang style wave hands I learned has a little different app. When you re-directed his right with your right instead of locking could you have followed with a left hook to the head or back of neck ? (Yang style "strike the tiger). Love seeing different applications to the forms, there still alive.

Yep many do not know that Self defence are the same thing as what i call body medicine.
Good body chi = strong defence there by attack.
People somehow think they can learn the good part without learning the self defend energy behind it.
Its like a computer without power. You are one of them there know the flow for sure.

If you watch sparring and competition you'd already seen this yes?

    • @芯芯しゅしゅ
      @芯芯しゅしゅ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ameretat010
      Well that's true.
But aren't all competitions like that?
You have to understand that "cloud hands" and "inner fan" are all due to Chinese Literature.
      It's equivalent to
"weave out and parry" in boxing
      "connection and control" in BJJ
      "wrist fight" in wrestling
      Etc
The concepts of martial grappling are all the same.
You fight, you be better, you become better.
So let me explain, as a historian enthusiast not a martial practitioner.
Remove everything you know about Kung fu,
      Movies
      Shows,
      Demos,
      Advertisments,
And focus on Historical, Cultural and traditional value.
As a modern man, you can do better by carrying these forward by equally modern means.
Look past the 'BS' so to speak.
We're all one big Martial arts community, and I appreciate your concern.
You don't have to look far to find examples, start with what's familiar with you.
Now, I've never trained Chinese martial arts, but I respect it.
Because my country's martial arts, FMA (Filipino Martial Arts) were heavily affected by the mainland southeast asian nations.
Which took martial knowledge from India and China.
I hope you understand, because we all want to be better!
Like a big community willing to help each other become better people through the arts.
P.S. the universal principles of fighting apply to all Arts and styles,
It all comes down to the Artist.

      th-cam.com/video/G_Be9oXOzqU/w-d-xo.html
You know, I like the fact that we aren't cursing off each other.
Hope you get a good day.
And hope you get better at understanding Karate.
It's quite the rich cultural Martial art.
P.S. If you see someone being mean or confused to traditional martial arts, I hope you can explain these to them.
Since most of the time I'll just get tired from being sweared at
      Haha.
Thanks for this, I suggest looking up Jesse Enkamp in Karate.
He's a good start when it comes to understanding Karate.
      And he's a funny guy,
He made a skit with his brother to fight "Karate vs MMA" .
      It's what I'd say awesome!
He has a brother, Oliver Enkamp who's in the UFC with Karate roots.

Hey guys your vds are cool, great effort to show the Chinese arts. As far as Taijiquan, your presentation is not all correct, and unless you have real fight/combat sport experience you will not understand. One other thing is that you don't use fa-jing, you develop fa-jing and it changes (comes out) to fa - li (lee).

The term or definition to Fa-jing ( means to issue or discharge power explosively or refining the explosive power) I have been fighting in sanda since I was 13 and retired in 2010. along with the internals Tai Chi and Qi Gong ( 18 lohan gong ) since I was 13 as well. I am 48 now. I was taught martial combat with my internals so explaining it with functional intent is how I was taught. I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching my videos.
