Higher the peak lesser the forest coverage wind make peak grass land. Maharashtra and karnataka got less higher peak but serial of ranges have dense forest only Kerala and tamilnadu got higher then 2000ft which have less covarage of forest.
As more pass in eastern ghat make average height more as western ghat have less passes it may not vary more
