I think she deserved a redemption. If you take a closer look you will discover that she is actually a girl full of pain and hatred, all caused by the negligent role of her father Odin. When I see her I think she had reason to be angry, her father confronted her, banished her and erased her existence from Asgard until he lied to Thor and Loki about her. Imagine being the right hand of your father in a planetary conquest and suddenly he decides to banish you, just because you are not able to understand his change of mind, she had her father on a pedestal and you love him more than anyone in the world. If Odin had been more affectionate and fatherly to his daughter, she would have understood instead from her father to peaceful king.
It was because of Odin that he raised her as a brutal and bloodthirsty tyrant, trained her as a weapon without being able to see beyond that idea. I could have taught him that too about how to be a good, kind and benevolent ruler.
It really had to break her heart, there's no question why she was so filled with hatred and revenge. One day her father told her that she would be destined to rule Asgard, but then her father banished her and deprived her of all that, including the love of her family. Even more so being raised by a very violent and brutal king with a bloody ambition just to please him, that way of upbringing is definitely ABUSE and he had the opportunity to correct his mistake and instead did what he did. For my part I IDENTIFY WITH THAT.
She honestly looks a lot like Nebula, they were both raised to be weapons, they both fought for approval and recognition and both were filled with anger and revenge for the pain they felt inside of them. But above all they have that element that makes us tell ourselves that they deserve something better, that they can be something more than what they were created for. In Hela I see that there was a small light within her heart turned into the darkness of pain, if she had given Thor a chance of reconciliation leaving aside the hatred of his father for the damage he did, perhaps Thor He would have given her the same opportunity for reconciliation, that way Hela could have obtained the love and affection that was denied her for so long. Thus she would have become a great queen of Asgard and obtain a real family in the form of her brother Thor and Loki. I would even say that she could have been a great ally against Thanos or better yet a very promising member of A-FORCE.
She really deserved something so much more and it would have been a very moving character arc.
Not everyone deserved a redemption, Loki got a redemption and that broke the timeline

The only time she showed genuine sadness. She literally helped build Asgard but no one even recognize her because Odin change their history. She didn't immediately killed the guards because she thought by announcing her return she can rightful take her throne.

Same. She was a really good character and I would have loved her to fight alongside the avengers in Infinity war, she would have been a valuable asset in the war. She was, like Loki, just another victim of Odin's selfish actions. He made her a monster and she had to pay the price for his decisions. I'm genuinely happy that he fucking died.
I love her complex character. On the surface she seems evil but Odin erases her memory... possibly something worse than dying. I would love to see Hela go toe to toe with Thanos. I think if circumstances were different, she would’ve been a pretty awesome older sister to Thor and Loki. Perhaps she would’ve been able to cull some of the damage Odin did to their relationships and kept them together. That’s just my thought though

Cate Blanchett as Hela was the only reason why I watched Thor Ragnarok. She is the best Villain together with Loki. Awesome song and edit, good job. Now if they stay true to the comics she shouldn't be dead and maybe they will use her again in another movie I very much hope so.

annie garcia Remember that Loki's natural look was that of a frost giant. It was Odin's sorcery that made him look the way he does now. I like to think in my headcanon that Loki's resemblance to Hela (long black hair, green color scheme, horned helmet) is no coincidence at all, but rather Odin made him look like her because deep down he longed for his first born daughter whom he lost due to her lust for power, conquest and her thirst for blood, all of which were a result of the way he raised her. I really wish they adressed this and made the connection in the film. Loki basically had zero interaction with Hela other than flinching when told to kneel
Guys don't take it too seriously :) in original Norse mythology Hela together with Fenrir and Jörmungandr are actually children of Loki 😊 this is just MCU version
