So much fun spending time with you and your mom! I have started making skin care products and would love to hear more about oils that I can use in them for more than the purpose of scent.

I diffuse and use oils everyday too. My daughter in law makes soap, beauty products and natural deodorants with pure organic essential oils. You are so right about the quality of the oils - there are so many out there that are poor quality. Your cardigan is amazing and how fun that you used all your own hand dyed yarn!

Thanks for bringing your mom to the podcast. I’ve been interested in essential oils for the longest time and despite using lavander and juniper for my baths I decided to take the plunge and ordered a starter kit with the link you provided.
Looking forward to start this journey ☺️

I use Youngliving oils. Could you explain how your mom uses the oils for hair growth. She mentioned she and your dad both use them, but in different ways. I'm very interested in this. Yarn and oils, two of my favorite subjects. Thanks. Your mother is lovely.

Could your mom show how she dilutes and uses the peppermint for headaches.? What dilution ratio does she use? So many people have headaches and use over the counter medicines. My motto has always been " try something natural first". How many drops do you use in your diffusers? What are your favorites to diffuse and do you combine them.

I am just starting to actively use oil in diffuser too, but as I always have the fan on with Windows all open ( living in a hot and humid country), I wonder if diffuser would be helpful at all. I hope your mom can advise, and thank you:)

Loved your podcast, as always. All of your projects look beautiful. It was such a nice treat to see your mother on with you. She was very interesting. I would like to ask if she has any recommendations for an oil to use for inflammation. I have an arthritis in my hands that is much like rheumatoid, but not quite as widespread. I have pain and swelling in my knuckles. I would love to find a natural way to help this so I can keep on knitting! Thank you.

I loved your podcast, and the talk about essential oils! But I want to clear something up you said about asthma. You said candles have chemicals in them that cause asthma, but that is not true. Asthma is a chronic lung disease you are born with. Asthma attacks, however, can be caused by the smoke of candles. As someone who has been living with this disease all my life, I just wanted to clear that up. Anyway, I wish you a lot of fun in the remaining days your parents are with you :)

I would love to listen to and watch a whole series on essential oils. I keep notes on recipes, but always enjoy input. I have trouble finding a diffuser which lasts through the night. Or is that maybe even not necessary. Why do the diffusers use the different lights?

I use essential oils for everything from skin care, hormone balancing, overall health and well being, to home cleaning. It is important when using essential oils to be sure they are organic if you intend to use them for your body or inhalation. Otherwise, no matter how pure they are, they are contaminated with toxic pesticides and even gmos. Additionally, Young Living was just issued a large fine for illegally sourcing ingredients for some of their oils. Make sure to do your research before buying and using.

they also have been hit by the FDA in the approach that the company under section 201(g)(1)(B) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) [21 U.S.C. § 321(g)(1)(B)], because they are intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease. They do not have the authority according to the FDA to be promoting products to cure diseases, especially serious disease. This is a copy of the warning letter in 2014. www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2014/ucm416023.htm I can see both sides to the business as a medical provider. I use oils myself but would never advise by a company to diagnose and treat ilnesses. Also keep in mind that just because it is natural does not mean that there can be no allergies to such because I have seen many times this occurs. Since this letter of warning the business is taking more of "over the counter product" stance.

I would be interested in seeing an essential oils episode. Maybe you could highlight some of the things to be wary of when sourcing a company. I didn't realize there was no monitoring of essential oils.
    Also you can't beat lavender.

I enjoyed seeing your beautiful knits and yarn. Your jacket/sweater is so beautiful along with your sweater you were wearing! I love all the colors you used. I like the scrappy look it has, very unique!
Your Mom's oils sound amazing. I have numerous health issues but the most important one is I have to take blood thinners. Are these safe to use? I have recently learned that topical ointments or oils can affect people on blood thinners. I would love to purchase some for my health. I would think defusing oils to breathe would help me. It would be nice to find more natural things that would work for this issue.
I am looking forward to hearing more about the oils when your Mom is on again. I don't have Instagram so I won't be able to join in on the giveaway. Your prizes are wonderful. :)

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting with you and your mom. Tea tree EO is another great one and I use lavender and peppermint EO for migraines. Lemon grass EO for baiting my bee boxes for swarm season and citrus for cleaning. Would love to hear more on EO's. What would be good for arthritis/joint pain/swelling? My dad suffers from reflux is there one for that?

That's a beautiful color on you (your Siri sweater). I made this sweater as a cardigan, and I wish I'd done what you did-- made it as a pullover. I don't like the neckline as a cardigan but I like how it looks on you as a pullover. Nice work.

    Hi Molly and Heidi!!
(Molly, I'm in love with your podcast! It's my favorite, hands down. Pretty please start a podcast or blog about your life as a mama!!)
I was curious if you have any advice for using essential oils to help with post natal depression. I'm desperate for a non medication alternative and many friends have suggested using essential oils. Also, curious if you both have heard of Monq, and if that is a healthy way to use essential oils as well.
So sorry to use such a corny TH-cam decoy, I'm paranoid about putting my real info out there 😁

Hi Molly and Mom! So I have recently started getting into essential oils for cleaning. One thing that really bothers me is all the unknown chemicals. In the summer and fall months I tend to get a lot of unwanted pests entering my home as I am in a heavily treed area. Are there oils that are good for getting rid of these unwanted critters? Thanks Lisa

I would never pick out that pattern but boy, your pullover is lovely! which base is it? I heard you mention the color but can't find on which base it is. I would really love to make this pullover for myself, as a first project out of Voolenvine yarns.
Or please advise if you have a similar base, which gives a similar effect (not very fluffy but rather shiny yarn), you're both on my wishlist.
