I have a young 2 year old Shetland pony who knows nothing. where would I start with him and do you have any videos he's a studd also and when I try and teach him to lead he trys to bolt in front of me he's very mouthy. I'm just trying to find as many tools I can to teach him to be the respectably pony I know he can be.
Because a direct gaze could be perceived as challenging/threatening to the young horse. Shoulders forward and head down is the non-threatening body language to use with a horse when you want to gain their trust.
