I was a freshman at Penn State at the same time and I remember how heartbroken we were for VT. They even spelled out VT in the football stands during the spring scrimmage game. I’ll always remember that.

I happen to enjoy the pages with large blocks of similar colors because it allows me to complete a lot quickly. Who says you have to do one or the other? Stitch a page wherever you want. Mix it up. It all has to be done anyway, so why does it matter? Just enjoy it!
Nice to see all your work and congrats on the page finish. I would go diagonally with the pages. Yes, you will get to the mermaid faster in rows, but after the forehead you will be back to stitching pages and pages of blue. In diagonals, there will be new yellow colours, a ship and more birds really soon.
With the mystery shawl, I wouldn't worry too much, because if you happen to have that sort of striping it would've happened either way if you had those two colors next to each other. Either between 1 and 2 or 2 and 3. Just go with it! ❤
I vote you pull out farmhouse Christmas sooner rather than later so you can celebrate a project finish as you generally don’t have many of them. If sooner means May or June or November, so be it.
