You are not the first reactor to liken her voice to that of a siren. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full. Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills. There is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. If you like her stage presence and that tribal sound you should listen to Rechenka (The River) which she sang at 14. She was 15 in this video, this was during her second participation on the competition "You are super" for unfortunate children than spent a significant part of their lives without parental care. She won this competition twice in a row (the second time was a super show with the best participants of the previous years). The only way to watch all her performances from this competition is from the reuploads on my channel, the original videos had over 100 million views each but these videos are no longer viewable on youtube because of political reasons. If you go to her channel you will find most of her other performances. She is easily the best female vocalist of our times imo, you will witness a whole new world listening to her you might even be spoiled like me forever, i can no longer hear another song without wondering how it will sound from her.

Revelation is *the first song she has ever created herself in its entirety!* Music, arrangement, lyrics, art direction, choreography, clothing, body paint / make up, the works. I recommend you react to it *today* -- *before* Can't Help Falling In Love. I've read accounts claiming Diana's mother was saying she loved Diana, and was trying to take her away from her adoptive family, in the run up to her performance of Wicked Game. It seems there was much more important things for Diana to express and do than sing about romantic love or win competitions. I think she desperately needed to win hearts and minds. I'll avoid spoilers, but I'm pretty sure these three songs -- Wicked Game, Can't Help Falling In Love, and Revelation are connected as follows. First, she never sings "I don't want to fall in love with you". Instead she only sings "I don't want to fall in love". She never twists it to have the implication of the original -- I don't want to fall in love, but am despite myself. Instead, to the degree she's singing about love, she's declaring she isn't interested in romantic notions of love at all. One could imagine it is still ambiguous but then comes the clincher -- she changes the original's closing phrase "Nobody loves no one" (so of course I've fallen in love with you even though I don't want to, because I've been hurt too many times) to instead completely chuck out the window any possibility of her falling in love with anyone. Instead she sings "No one can save me but you" -- meaning she's *definitely* not singing about falling in love, just making it crystal clear that it's all about the fact she feels her only path to salvation is that her audience -- and these judges -- fall in love with *her* via her music. (So it's not only not about romance but reverses the flow of love implied in the original song.) There's another element of this performance to pay attention to that ties it (and other competitions around this time) to Revelation: *the noise* made four times by the four buttons that the four judges press to vote for her. Which leads to another element that I wonder whether you spotted in Wicked Game, and I wonder at in Revelation. One of the judges connects Dimash to Diana. Did you spot him? Her Wicked Game performance also ties into her Can't Help Falling In Love, because they both deal with falling in love in surprising ways. Do you know what character Elvis Presley's character sings this song to in the movie he famously sang it in? And who in Diana's life she has said was the most important person related to her releasing Revelation? I avoid material spoilers. *The lyrics-switch* I've watched several reactors to Diana's version, and read comments, over the last couple months. I don't recall anyone -- reactor or commenter -- mentioning this lyric switch. It may be that Diana, you and I are the only ones on the planet who are aware of it. (Pigs might fly too... 😁) If you ever get a suitable moment to ask viewers if they'd spotted the lyric switch in her Wicked Game, please do! I don't recall noticing the switch until a few days ago. I only became primed to spot it after I began bouncing between Revelation, and reactions to her competition performances (because my intuition told me I might be missing something that was in plain sight in Revelation). In fact it was only when I was watching your reaction that my awareness of the lyrics switch fully crystallized. In particular I hadn't noticed the switch of the last phrase until I was in the midst of writing my earlier comment to you and decided I would pull up Isaak's official video of it to compare that with her version. *The noise of the judge's button* Beyond a temporary surprise at its loudness when I first heard it, I naturally didn't assign any significance to the noise the judges' buttons make in these competitions -- until I suddenly did a few days ago. Nor have I noticed anyone directly mention the connection between Revelation and these competition performances. The silence about the button sound reappearing in Revelation is now deafening to my ears! In your reaction to Revelation and/or her old competition performances where the judges used buttons that made this sound, please ask your viewers about whether they see a direct connection between them. Maybe mention the sound. I would like validation I'm not making things up! *Her body language* There is so much that's easy to miss on first or even tenth encounter with great art. Sometimes a detail, or even a motif, a regular part of an artist's work, previously missed though often obvious in retrospect, is revealed, and then another, and so on. For me, one such element that popped into focus as I rewatched her competition videos was her impressive use of body language to communicate with judges as she sang: * When you react to her recent Can't Help Falling In Love you'll see she unambiguously demands the vote/love of *all* the 9 other singers/judges in the competition while using the ambiguity of performance to be singing about falling in love with "you" -- the listener/judge -- when in fact she clearly isn't. (BTW, have you yet figured out who she might be singing about? Please consider asking your viewers about this if your brain hasn't been entirely sucked dry by the end of her performance. It's just 2 and a half minutes; you can do it!) * In her earlier competition performances, with just 4 judges, she didn't ask for love but she systematically focus her entire formidable (understatement!) presence on individual judges, one at a time, physically beckoning for, almost demanding, that each judge in turn vote for her (until, once they had, on cue per the song's flow and her performance of it, done her bidding, she moved on to the next). Consider rewatching Wicked Game with this in mind. Pay attention to the lyrics and her eye contact -- or lack of it -- and gestures as she is singing. Closely watch how comfortable or not the judges look as they press their button. Someone might be thinking she was perhaps like a weak pouting child leaning on a "poor me" appeal. But you've seen her. She's more like an infinitely terrifying, beautiful, powerful ancient demon evoking "poor you if you defy me!" And it's by no means just Wicked Game. In fact, at least in my imagination, she ratcheted the pressure on the judges as she went through her performances, including Last Dance and Rechenka. (I'm not sure what order she performed them in. Maybe ask your viewers to fill you in on their order and what other performances there were?) *Last Dance and Rechenka* I've seen several powerful competition performances that I hope you react to. (Actually, I hope you react to anything you hear gets a persuasive thumbs up from some Diana fans. I'm a rookie who hasn't seen much yet, and have liked pretty much everything I've seen by her so far, and as one of my favorite Dimash reactors I'm relishing the idea you are starting out your Diana journey!) Two songs/performances of particular note for me are Rechenka (in which she seems to beckon to the entire universe) and Last Dance (I think the French title is something like Dernier Danse), known on the Interwebs as "The Joker Song". (Apparently, before the Russia/Ukraine war, many of her videos had fairly huge view counts. I've seen mentions of some of them having over 100M views but google must have taken those down. A remnant is the video of her performance of "The Joker Song". It does not name her but instead refers to her as "cute girl". It has around 20M views.) I recommend you hold back on Rechenka for a while. It is as heavy as it gets. Wicked Game was heavy due to the context and likely meaning, but at least it was of Earth bound heaviness, even if she is perhaps best understood as metaphorically being not of this world herself. But Rechenka is literally not of this world. And I've read hints that the closing is infinitely... Well, I'm not going to say. First, it's in Russian, which I don't understand it. Second, you are yet to experience it, so I don't want to spoil it. Suffice to say, I recommend you find out more about her and her life journey up to that moment before reacting to it. In contrast The Joker Song / Last Dance / Derniere Danse is just 2 minutes of a cute girl. Not a big deal. I've watched it and can see it's just a cute girl, like the Internet says. 😉 I can't wait to watch your reaction to it! 😍 Also, what do you think of Igor Krutoy's impression of her, and she of him? One clue to Diana's low register lies within her video performance of the Elvis cover she does ..."Can't help falling in love". Please react (your mind will be totally blown) to that video but don't leave the video after she sings the last note. The video continues and you will hear the reaction of 8 judges who are in competition with Diana as they provide Diana with feedback. Now, listen closely to the female judges. They all have low bass-like speaking voices seemingly as a cultural characteristic of Russian women. I would have to think that has something to do with it plus of course Diana choosing it as a singing style with all the years of hard work and discipline in training her voice. You are not the first reactor to liken her voice to that of a siren. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

Diana has a very rare voice. She is a contralto and she is also polyphonic, which means she can produce several tones at the same time. It makes her voice sound so full.
Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills.
There is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion.

The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived... and she abused the child and tried to drown it One day, this 3-year-old girl was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage where she finally found love... by Irina Ponik, a masseuse who treated the children at the children's home. Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old. Diana had difficulty speaking, cried a lot and was still very frightened, but she could sing cartoon songs. A doctor recommended singing lessons. And so, singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And it all began... Diana has something primitive, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest type of female voice (her range C3-D6 ). Diana's voice also sometimes has a polyphonic undertone. You will hear: Her voice sounds an octave below the t he voice she sings. (But not everyone can hear that). Remarkable. She is truly one of the most mysterious singers I've heard, just from the aspect of her singing style. I know some singers that sing in same or similar genre, but no one has that voice.

Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother at age 3. Because of this beginning, she had speech problems and was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talent was quickly recognized and the rest is history.
That sounds heartbreaking but also inspirational. I'm sad that she had to go through that but I'm happy to see her enjoy singing and allowing us to witness it as well.

She was 15 in this video, this was during her second participation on the competition "You are super" for unfortunate children than spent a significant part of their lives without parental care.
She won this competition twice in a row (the second time was a super show with the best participants of the previous years).
The only way to watch all her performances from this competition is from the reuploads on my channel, the original videos had over 100 million views each but these videos are no longer viewable on youtube because of political reasons.
If you go to her channel you will find most of her other performances.
She is easily the best female vocalist of our times imo, you will witness a whole new world listening to her you might even be spoiled like me forever, i can no longer hear another song without wondering how it will sound from her.

Revelation is *the first song she has ever created herself in its entirety!* Music, arrangement, lyrics, art direction, choreography, clothing, body paint / make up, the works. I recommend you react to it *today* -- *before* Can't Help Falling In Love.
I've read accounts claiming Diana's mother was saying she loved Diana, and was trying to take her away from her adoptive family, in the run up to her performance of Wicked Game. It seems there was much more important things for Diana to express and do than sing about romantic love or win competitions. I think she desperately needed to win hearts and minds.
I'll avoid spoilers, but I'm pretty sure these three songs -- Wicked Game, Can't Help Falling In Love, and Revelation are connected as follows.
First, she never sings "I don't want to fall in love with you". Instead she only sings "I don't want to fall in love". She never twists it to have the implication of the original -- I don't want to fall in love, but am despite myself. Instead, to the degree she's singing about love, she's declaring she isn't interested in romantic notions of love at all.
One could imagine it is still ambiguous but then comes the clincher -- she changes the original's closing phrase "Nobody loves no one" (so of course I've fallen in love with you even though I don't want to, because I've been hurt too many times) to instead completely chuck out the window any possibility of her falling in love with anyone. Instead she sings "No one can save me but you" -- meaning she's *definitely* not singing about falling in love, just making it crystal clear that it's all about the fact she feels her only path to salvation is that her audience -- and these judges -- fall in love with *her* via her music. (So it's not only not about romance but reverses the flow of love implied in the original song.)
There's another element of this performance to pay attention to that ties it (and other competitions around this time) to Revelation: *the noise* made four times by the four buttons that the four judges press to vote for her. Which leads to another element that I wonder whether you spotted in Wicked Game, and I wonder at in Revelation. One of the judges connects Dimash to Diana. Did you spot him?
Her Wicked Game performance also ties into her Can't Help Falling In Love, because they both deal with falling in love in surprising ways. Do you know what character Elvis Presley's character sings this song to in the movie he famously sang it in? And who in Diana's life she has said was the most important person related to her releasing Revelation? (Incredibly, she had been postponing releasing it, for months, until this person talked her into having the courage to do it!)

*The lyrics-switch*
I've watched several reactors to Diana's version, and read comments, over the last couple months. I don't recall anyone -- reactor or commenter -- mentioning this lyric switch. It may be that Diana, you and I are the only ones on the planet who are aware of it. (Pigs might fly too... 😁) If you ever get a suitable moment to ask viewers if they'd spotted the lyric switch in her Wicked Game, please do!
I don't recall noticing the switch until a few days ago. I only became primed to spot it after I began bouncing between Revelation, and reactions to her competition performances (because my intuition told me I might be missing something that was in plain sight in Revelation).
In fact it was only when I was watching your reaction that my awareness of the lyrics switch fully crystallized. In particular I hadn't noticed the switch of the last phrase until I was in the midst of writing my earlier comment to you and decided I would pull up Isaak's official video of it to compare that with her version.
*The noise of the judge's button*
Beyond a temporary surprise at its loudness when I first heard it, I naturally didn't assign any significance to the noise the judges' buttons make in these competitions -- until I suddenly did a few days ago.
Nor have I noticed anyone directly mention the connection between Revelation and these competition performances. The silence about the button sound reappearing in Revelation is now deafening to my ears!
In your reaction to Revelation and/or her old competition performances where the judges used buttons that made this sound, please ask your viewers about whether they see a direct connection between them. Maybe mention the sound. I would like validation I'm not making things up!
*Her body language*
There is so much that's easy to miss on first or even tenth encounter with great art. Sometimes a detail, or even a motif, a regular part of an artist's work, previously missed though often obvious in retrospect, is revealed, and then another, and so on.
For me, one such element that popped into focus as I rewatched her competition videos was her impressive use of body language to communicate with judges as she sang:
* When you react to her recent Can't Help Falling In Love you'll see she unambiguously demands the vote/love of *all* the 9 other singers/judges in the competition while using the ambiguity of performance to be singing about falling in love with "you" -- the listener/judge -- when in fact she clearly isn't. (BTW, have you yet figured out who she might be singing about? Please consider asking your viewers about this if your brain hasn't been entirely sucked dry by the end of her performance. It's just 2 and a half minutes; you can do it!)
* In her earlier competition performances, with just 4 judges, she didn't ask for love but she systematically focus her entire formidable (understatement!) presence on individual judges, one at a time, physically beckoning for, almost demanding, that each judge in turn vote for her (until, once they had, on cue per the song's flow and her performance of it, done her bidding, she moved on to the next).
Consider rewatching Wicked Game with this in mind. Pay attention to the lyrics and her eye contact -- or lack of it -- and gestures as she is singing. Closely watch how comfortable or not the judges look as they press their button. Someone might be thinking she was perhaps like a weak pouting child leaning on a "poor me" appeal. But you've seen her. She's more like an infinitely terrifying, beautiful, powerful ancient demon evoking "poor you if you defy me!"
And it's by no means just Wicked Game. In fact, at least in my imagination, she ratcheted the pressure on the judges as she went through her performances, including Last Dance and Rechenka. (I'm not sure what order she performed them in. Maybe ask your viewers to fill you in on their order and what other performances there were?)
*Last Dance and Rechenka*
I've seen several powerful competition performances that I hope you react to. (Actually, I hope you react to anything you hear gets a persuasive thumbs up from some Diana fans. I'm a rookie who hasn't seen much yet, and have liked pretty much everything I've seen by her so far, and as one of my favorite Dimash reactors I'm relishing the idea you are starting out your Diana journey!)
Two songs/performances of particular note for me are Rechenka (in which she seems to beckon to the entire universe) and Last Dance (I think the French title is something like Dernier Danse), known on the Interwebs as "The Joker Song".
(Apparently, before the Russia/Ukraine war, many of her videos had fairly huge view counts. I've seen mentions of some of them having over 100M views but google must have taken those down. A remnant is the video of her performance of "The Joker Song". It does not name her but instead refers to her as "cute girl". It has around 20M views.)
I recommend you hold back on Rechenka for a while. It is as heavy as it gets. Wicked Game was heavy due to the context and likely meaning, but at least it was of Earth bound heaviness, even if she is perhaps best understood as metaphorically being not of this world herself. But Rechenka is literally not of this world. And I've read hints that the closing is infinitely... Well, I'm not going to say. First, it's in Russian, which I don't understand it. Second, you are yet to experience it, so I don't want to spoil it. Suffice to say, I recommend you find out more about her and her life journey up to that moment before reacting to it.
In contrast The Joker Song / Last Dance / Derniere Danse is just 2 minutes of a cute girl. Not a big deal. I've watched it and can see it's just a cute girl, like the Internet says. 😉 I can't wait to watch your reaction to it! 😍 Also, what do you think of Igor

I like to think Igor Krutoy was a major sponsor of Russian singing competitions for children, if not the creator, at least for the series for children dealing with parental neglect or abuse. But I haven't researched that.
I do know he's a very big deal in Diana's life (more so in some respects than he is in Dimash's, though I don't think he has composed songs for her).

While Revelation has deeper meaning, I'm particularly looking forward to your response to her look.
Until recently her fashion sense has struck me as, well, a mostly average teenager with occasional splashes of magnificence and many splashes of mousy. Kinda like her Blank was mostly Bland and seldom even Blancmange.

I've seen a bunch of incredible songs and performances, but perhaps more that aren't so great (though I don't dislike them whereas some folk seem to not be able to stomach her when she uses her deepest and weirdest vocalizations). They all have low bass-like speaking voices seemingly as a cultural characteristic of Russian women. The song you want to listen to is not "Can't Help Falling in Love* which everyone will suggest but this dark version by Tommy Profit is nothing more than 8 words repeated over and over again and is basically a vocal warm-up song.
