Hi Emily, this is Susan. I'm your new favorite student😊 I don't know why I only found you yesterday but I'm sure happy I did. Your Tangles are stunning! I mean not just beautiful but doable! I've struggled with my Tangles... I'm guilty of always comparing my stuff to people who have been at this for YEARS! I just want to skip all those years of experience they have and jump right into the most intricate and advanced level shit but WITHOUT all their years of struggle with this style of drawing. I just found you yesterday and. You don't speed up your videos very much. Of course, all y'all teachers have to do that... I get it. You'd never be able to post as many tutorials if you did them all in real time. I like the tempo you've chosen. It's already helped me. Doing one at a time and giving the names of each tangle is AMAZING!!! NOBODY ELSE DOES THAT!!! I'm not kidding. I could drop some serious names here but...I won't. I'm here now, in the present. I don't know how old your stuff is, and I don't care. I found you RIGHT WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO! I believe people enter and exit our lives right on time. I'm a Black Belt student in the "Law if Attraction"classes. It makes my life easy. So..... with no further adieu, let's get on, shall we? This is my 2nd "class" in your school. Yesterday, I did really well with the 8 pattern tutorial that had "Flos, and Alcatraz a few others. I LOVE FLOS!! It is so easy and so easy to blend in with other tangles. Ok... my pencil is in my hand, and my paper is fresh and clean, AND my cat has just now plopped his 17 lb. Ass right on top of all of it. That's my green 💚 light! HERE WE GO!

I'd say check out Zentangle.com to get started. The small cards keep the art easily digestible. You can finish something easily without being overwhelmed. That said, you can do any size paper you feel like. It's all about doing what you enjoy. There are lots of Zentangle videos on TH-cam too. Just search and find what you like. 😊

How do you sharpen the tortillons

I usually just push the end of a paperclip through the bottom to push the point back out. I've seen others use sandpaper though. Has the benefit of cleaning the graphite off.
