The Living Coast is still so dynamic even with all the changes over the years (the lack of green sea turtles still hurts), but I do miss its heyday when it truly was Peru-focused.
Around the end of last summer, the zoo received a Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle (not the same species as displayed before), that was rescued from the wild after being struck by a boat propeller. The turtle was cared for in Florida and then arrived here in Illinois after being deemed unreleasable due to being blind in one eye and partly paralyzed on the back fins. I guess this has not been talked much because all indoor facilities were closed off to the public for the guests safety during this pandemic. The zoo does show off turtle with photos and videos on their Facebook and TH-cam channel if you want to see it. Besides some penguin chicks hatched from the zoo recently as well, not much has changed since then for this exhibit.
You are quite welcome, and thank you too. It isn't the best shoutout one can give, but I do promise based on my own stats and analytics, mamy people do click on those circles.
Try either Henry Doorly Zoo, Woodland Park Zoo, San Diego Zoo/Safari Park, SeaWorld San Diego, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Oakland Zoo, Sacramento Zoo, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Aquarium Of The Bay, California Academy of sciences,, or San Francisco Zoo soon! 🐘

Because my species list is outdated, and with the need to film three areas, I have no patience to wait for inter changing electronic identification signs. Taking time to name every little animal on a video is also a waste of time.
I went to Brookfield a LOT as a kid and this was one of my favorite parts for sure! I can still remember that smell despite not going for years.

Such a good exhibit!
I like that exhibit at broke field zoo with penguins
Honestly this was one of the best videos you've ever made! Defintly worth the wait! Loved the intro!
This is my local zoo, i really miss the vampire bats. Every time i visited for a while now its just abandoned, kind of creepy looking.
1997? That’s the year I was born!

I heard recently by the end of this year, the Zoo is renovating the Penguin Habitat.
Nice video.
Trivia Answer: White-bellied Pangolin
The Newport Aquarium opened its new Freshwater Falls.
Thanks for the shout out at the end Zach. This is one of your greatest videos yet.
And the trivia question: White-bellied tree pangolin.

You should go to Kansas City
